Product Description

Editorial Review

A tinier version of the traditional Radio Flyer steel trike, this 10-inch classic couldn't get any cuter without an anxious toddler onboard. Wide handlebars with grips, matching red pedals, a step in back for piggybacking, and a wide two-color seat give it a distinctly retro look. But its old-fashioned style doesn't take away from its functionality--the ride is smooth. --Diane Beall

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best you can buy - needs to be heavier, February 20, 2005
We bought this tricycle for our three-year-old and had the same problem as everyone else here has - the steering on the handlebars just doesn't stay put. We've had to adjust ours numeous times too. It gets used, but it just isn't all that safe. You HAVE to use a helmet with this guy because it's VERY easy to tip over, which is a huge deal for the age group for which this is intended. It's nice that they kept the classic styling but there's one thing they shouldn't have kept - how dastardly easy it is to get your foot under that back bar and scrape the top of your foot! I did that a zillion times as a kid and now, I'm doing it again with my child's bike! I HATE that! And, I have the scars to prove it.

All-in-all, if you like nostalgia, then by all means, avail yourself of this product. But quite frankly, I'd buy something else more study. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone letting their child use this product unsupervised. It just tips over way too much. I get the willies each time I see this guy go down the driveway. Good thing I've been there each time this thing has tipped over.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but front handlebars slide around, November 1, 2002

My 20 mo old son loved riding this bike in [a local toy store], which is why I chose it. I think he liked it because the seat was high and he could push himself with his feet. He's not yet able to use the pedals. I have a smaller plastic trike, which he never uses because it's too low to the ground and too hard to push himself. My only complaint is that the handlebars have a locking slide button and they're hard to install. Maybe I did something wrong but our handlebars move around and I think that I may have stripped the screw trying to keep them tight. I think that the bike would have been better without the locking mechanism anyway(which is used to lock the front wheel when you use the push bar to push your child.) What kid actually lets you push them anyway? Mine won't let me touch that pushbar. He'd rather keep pushing around with his feet.

2.0 out of 5 stars I can't recommend this trike to anyone, October 21, 2002

I bought this for my 3 year old thinking it would be great. In reality, the seat is too high and the trike can tip easily. Also, he had a very hard time reaching the pedals and controlling the trike. If I could do it again, I would buy him a regular little tiny bike with training wheels instead. They actually are sturdier and sit lower to the ground.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommend it
I'm glad I chose this bike. Much more durable than most of the others I looked at. It was easy to assemble and the handle removes easily for times when it's not needed.
