Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
Despite accompanying a comedy with a nicely hot-cha-cha premise--Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt as gold-digger con artists--this soundtrack disc offers very little in the way of truly saucy music. Besides Alison Krauss's take on "Baby, Now That I've Found You," three Antonio Carlos Jobim classics performed by Astrud Gilberto, Sarah Vaughan, and a stiff Susannah McCorkle are about the only suggestion of real sex here. The What Women Want CD offered Sinatra and Bennett, so why the third-rate lounge-act version (by Michael Andrew and Swingerhead) of "The Best Is Yet to Come" included here? That's not to mention the snooze-inducing singer-songwriter tracks (Shawn Colvin, Inara George & Bryony Atkinson) that amount to musical non sequiturs. A puzzling album, at best. --Rickey Wright

3.0 out of 5 stars Can't find song on this Soundtrack (responce), May 24, 2003
By A Customer
The Name of the songs many are looking for, when both girls are on the boat looking for people to con, is called "Tropicalia" by Beck, and the other one in where they are dancing after they just got married is called "Oh, My Love" by John Lennon, And because this is not a forum let me give my opinion on the cd. The CD was ok, it really should have had more, its not much of a Soundtrack. Thank You for reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars The missing song....?, April 16, 2001
OK, first of all after a saw the heartbreakers I wanted the soundtrack mainly for the mystery song where Jake (Jason Lee) and Page (Jennifer Love Hewitt) have just been married and are dancing under the stars. This song was stuck in my head all weekend, it wasn't until i had to go back and see the movie again that i found out the song is called "Oh my Love" by John Lennon. I hope this will end the search for the missing song.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but missing the best song of the movie, October 22, 2001
I love the mix on this CD, but it is missing the best song in the movie. I know this has already been talked about in some of the the other reviews, so I know that I'm not alone in this view. The song I'm talking about is the one played by Jack to Page on their honeymoon. It is Oh My Love by John Lennon. The only reason I'm writing this review is because I know of at least two versions of this song that are currently being sold. The version I believe to be the one used in the movie is on John Lennon's album titled IMAGINE [ORIGINAL RECORDING REMASTERED] released on 4/11/2000. The other version (the one I don't think was used in the movie) is on Lennon's box set and on the album titled Wonsaponatime. The lyrics are the same in both versions, but there are small differences. Maybe these differences won't matter to others, but it did to me. I had to have the Imagine album.
