This 32-inch set uses a flat, dark-tint picture tube, which not only looks cool compared with a conventional, bulbous screen, but also provides a high-quality, high-contrast picture owing to the screen's ability to reduce reflected ambient light. A picture-in-picture tuner lets you monitor one video source--TV channel, Internet, videotape, DVD, video game--while watching another. The 32PT71B's digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line).

The set comes with stereo 2.5-inch speakers and delivers 5 watts per channel. Stereo reception from broadcast programming arrives via Multichannel Television Sound (MTS) and dbx noise reduction, which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals.

A component-video input grants optimal connection with a compatible DVD player, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate all DVD player. The set includes rear-panel audio-video jacks, an M-Link remote control, and multiple programming options.

Terrific picture! Great Price! I upgraded from a 25" to this 32" and it has a remarkable picture. The menu system is easier to use than the older Philips' TVs and I really like the remote control that comes with the television. I would recommend this TV for anyone who wants a great picture at a good value.
