5.0 out of 5 stars Face pealing thrash , February 22, 2006
By Thomas P. Ault (mercer,PA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I finally found this album. I remember my old friend had the LP and got me into it. I had it on cassette when it first came out. I have been looking for this for years. This by far my favorite Destruction release. In my opinion it is their most technical. Odd rhythms and drum beats. They were originally a 3 piece,But on this album they have two guitar players and it definitely added to their sound. Every song is Top Notch Thrash! If you were around the scene in the 80's you must have heard this. If not you had better listen to it. This is one of my favorite thrash albums of all time. This is different than anything else they have done. The guitar solos are up there with Yngwie, sweep picking and arpeggios backed by a complicated rhythm section. It is hard to desribe the vocals, their definately unique. Schmier doesn't sing like this anymore and I have never heard anyone do the high-pitch parts he does although it is not really high pitch singing on this album. If you are a real thrasher check this one out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than any U.S. thrash...., January 27, 2006
Slayer does give these guys some competition but the axe men behind this band(if you know destruction or thrash)obviously have been blowing kerry and jeff out of the water since their debut. After the prior thrash metal masterpiece, "eternal devistation", Destruction takes their sound a step farther. Schiemer's vocals sound more pissed off yet still raw and fresh backed up by the slightly more downtuned and technical bad a$$ f**king axe work! This album is deffinately one of the most brutal in thrash. Destruction have definately left a mark at this time for having two of the best guitar players in thrash metal(not that it wasn't already evident on "eternal Devistation"). So if your sick of Megadeth,Anthrax and metallica, and want something more heavy, true, and raw do yourself a favor and pick up some destruction. I lost my copy a few weeks ago and am still going through withdraw from it. If you like good 'old heavy thrash metal like old Kreator,Possesed, old slayer,Dark Angel,Sodom,Sadus, old Sepultura,or if you just like true extreme metal in genral, WHY ISN'T THIS IN YOUR COLLECTION YET?

5.0 out of 5 stars ..bionic metal.., January 5, 2006
By Antonios "Illidan" (Athens Greece) - See all my reviews
Well. Here we are..This Lp is one of them that someone who really apreciates thrash metal should have..Unbelievable what these guys do with their guitars..And Schmier's vocals are perfectly dressing the music..Not any music..I mean they must have studied Wagner or Beetwoven..but not like copying it..There is a frightening atmosphere that surrounds this lp.Fascinating i would say..Highly underated like all true masterpieces are. It's so personal. This is not a USA metal album..It is european..and it kicks ass..
