Silvio & Pablo posing for immortality, June 11, 2001
In 1984, when Silvio and Pablo recorded this CD alive in the Obras Publicas Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina was recovering from a brutal dictatorship that destroyed the country, murdered thousands and lost a pathetic war. The country gasped for fresh FREE air. Many exiled Argentinians were returning home to pick up the broken pieces left by the military. In these circumstances Silvio & Pablo offered this concert surrounded by some of the best Argentine folk musicians at that time: Victor Heredia, Leon Gieco, Cuarteto Zupay, Piero, Antonio Tarrago Ros, and Cesar Isella. To me this CD (that I got originally in 1985 as a cassette) represents a lot for many reasons, some very personal. However, I must admit that the recording is not the best and that several choruses with Silvio and/or Pablo and the Argentinian singers are far from perfect. On the other hand you will never have the chance to listen this Latin American anthem called "Cancion con Todos" authored by Cesar Isella, sung by the Cubans, the author and the rest of the cast. The CD that I purchased in Buenos Aires in 1993, does not have a beautiful song by Pablo: "Acto de Fe" (available in Pablo's CD's in Amazon). I don't think it was left out because of lack of room since the duration of the CD is short enough to accommodate more songs. Perhaps the ending of that missing song may give us a hint why it wasn't included: "Creo en ti, revolucion!"

Best of All-time Live recordings, September 10, 2002
This album is one of the most amazing recordings you can own...it is worth it for the passion and strength in Silvio's vocals alone. the playing is often uneven but this music is not about precision, it was about people finally being free to have this concert after 10 years of political oppression in Argentina, and the crowd rages with delight upon every revolutionary utterance of silvio's masterful lyrics and delivery. Pablo Milanes also is great as are Argentinian musicians who lend their help. "Todavia Cantamos" is the highlight. A MUST HAVE!

Very interesting live performance, December 19, 2005
English and spanish Overview:
- English: Silvio and Pablo Milanes, are the 2 most importants singers for the Nueva Trova Cubana movement. On this disk, the quality of the sound is very good for a recording like this, and the additional argentinien singers perform very well also. Although those two singers may have about 30 discs each one, the selection here is still interesting, with some of the most popular songs from both. If you like either Silvio, Pablo, or both, and want all the discs in your collection, then buy this one. If you don't have this one, you won't miss too much this record. It has pretty much the same musical structure arrengments than the original songs, with 2 exceptions, Ojala y Oleo de Mujer con sombrero.
