Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Be more productive with your Pocket PC when you're on the road with this special portability pack from Targus. It includes a 56K CompactFlash modem that connects to standard phone lines, a retractable telephone cord, and an attractive stylus/pen combo.

The small, lightweight modem allows the user to connect a PDA handheld computer (running Windows CE 2.0 and higher or Pocket PC) to the Internet, or to check e-mail using standard phone lines. It has a built-in folding RJ-11 jack (standard phone line connector), which eliminates the bulky housing found on other CompactFlash modems. Installation takes only a few minutes, and the CompactFlash modem is hot swappable, enabling you to plug it in without having to reboot your Pocket PC.

The retractable telephone cord is a convenient, inexpensive alternative to bulky, tangled phone cables. Simply pull one end, and the cord easily extends up to 8 feet. A self-retracting mechanism makes it easy to reel the cord into its small, portable storage container.

The combination stylus and ballpoint pen is an attractive, multipurpose device perfect for your Pocket PC. Featuring a dark, metallic finish and a pocket clip, it's handy for the times when you need both a pen and a stylus. The plastic stylus tip is safe for use with any PDA. In the opposite end, under the cap, there's a ballpoint pen tip with black ink. The ink cartridges are replaceable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Targus Modem Excellent Product, August 28, 2001
By Robert J. Smith (Wichita, Ks United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Targus B0060 Pocket PC Portability Pack (Electronics)
After having no success using the Pretec 56k modem,I chose the Targus.I was online in 10 min,and no calls to tech. supp. needed. I also like the slim design of the Targus. I have a Jornada 545,and the combination works great. I recommend the Targus with the highest rating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stylus Nice, but won't fit iPAQ, August 28, 2001
By Lori "mythago2" (Northeastern Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Targus B0060 Pocket PC Portability Pack (Electronics)
This is not a complaint. It's just a little added information. The included stylus will not fit inside the Compaq iPAQ's stylus port. The diameter is too large and this stylus is round. It's packaging states, "Fits securely inside Casio Cassiopeia Pocket PC's or Compact PC Companion stylus port". But, it does have a stainless steel barrel. And it is a dual function stylus (the removable cap protects a ballpoint pen). It also includes a metal pocket clip.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tarus Pocket PC Modem, September 20, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Targus B0060 Pocket PC Portability Pack (Electronics)
Very well executed design including a green light indicating that modem is operational. Unit worked "right out of the box" and I got operational within 15 minuts. However, there is a one serious deficiency. Those elegant trap doors for inserting the phone extention cord. They are very elegant but any small accident would broke them off which will make this modem useless. At least for me this is a potentially serious reliability problem and the reason why I returned this otherwise very nice modem.
