5.0 out of 5 stars Good multi-use labeller, August 7, 2001
By "forsale-online" (Morrisville, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This is one of the best P-touch labellers I've used. The (pseudo) QUERTY keyboard makes it wasy to input text. Functions are clearly labelled and easy to reference without a manual. Five size and multi-line text and 9 memory locations to save frequent printed labels. Also quick access to change tapes on the top.

The Amazon price is great as well. You won't be disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good capability, fair price, September 16, 2004
By Rick Galati (Lake St. Louis, Missouri United States) - See all my reviews
I was looking for an inexpensive, yet high quality, long lasting, and durable way to identify dozens upon dozens of electrical wires behind the instrument panel of my airplane. A fellow pilot made me aware of the family of small electronic labelers available in the marketplace. The Brother 1750 fits my needs perfectly. Offering two lines of crisp, highly readable print gives a professional appearance to all labeling needs. My experience is quite different than some reviewers who have complained about wasted tape. In fact, I found that little wasted tape is generated if you simply adjust the margins to a particular task and this option is clearly spelled out in the instruction booklet. Since I purchased the 1750, I have found many uses for it around the home office and I wonder how I got by without one in the past! My only complaint about the keyboard is that among the characters, it does not offer a dash or hyphen, so when one is required, I find myself using a star instead. That is a minor complaint though. The Brother 1750 gets considerable mileage on AA battery power alone, so I have not felt the need to purchase the adapter.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wasted tape is a big problem, February 21, 2005
By Trevor Andrade (Toronto, Canada) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
It is obvious that Brother designed this labeler to waste tape. I bought the labeler because I wanted to implement the Getting Things Done System. I find the labeler useful but I am very annoyed that Brother made the labeler is such a way as to force people to buy as much of their tape as possible. The reviewer Rick Galati is completely wrong. There is always wasted tape no matter what adjustment you make and the wasted tape is usually substantial. There is absolutely no way to prevent the labeller from wasting tape. No matter what setting of the margins you use the labeler will always print out an margin on the left side. There is a margin setting called "NONE" but even this prints out a sizable margin on the left side. The worst thing though is that if you use the settings which reduce margins than you no longer have the text centered in the label. Instead there will be a margin on the left side but no margin on the right side. Thus you have to cut the tape in order to center the text which is a big hassle. In fact I just use the labeler with the margin settings set to "FULL" because I don't want to bother having to cut the tape myself. Brother could easily of made the labeller in such a way as to reduce the margins but they didn't. I can only include that they did this on purpose to get people to buy more tape. The tapes themselves are about 20 dollars.
