Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Firing up the grill? The shorter, 8-inch length and slightly stiffer feel of this turner makes it the tool of choice for flipping smaller, heavier items like thick burgers. The 4-1/2-by-3-inch head has rounded corners and tapered edges, so it also slides easily underneath the biggest pancake or the heaviest grilled cheese. Because it's constructed from highly heat-resistant silicone, this turner won't melt if you leave it propped up against a skillet, and it won't scratch or otherwise harm your beloved nonstick pans. The KitchenAid logo even doubles as a spatula rest, so you can place the turner up against the rim of a pan without it sliding in. With its cheery chrome accents and convenient hanging loop, this turner will brighten your kitchen even as it stays within arm's reach. --Mary Park

Product Description

Sliding under a fragile pancake you need a turner that has gently curved edges and a wide head, with just the right amount of bend vs. resistance. You also want a turner capable of effortlessly lifting weightier foods like an oversized burger. Thanks to its remarkable heat-resistance you can leave it resting against the skillet without melting it. Durable, good looking, and designed with both function and comfort in mind, this tool coordinates with your blue KitchenAid appliances.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well designed spatula/turner, November 17, 2002
By "jb1964" (Palo Alto, CA USA) - See all my reviews
I just got done putting my new KitchenAid short turner through its paces and I am very impressed with its performance. Although this tool is smaller than its big brother in the KitchenAid lineup, it's actually a normal sized spatula/turner compared to most other brands. It is right at home in 9" - 11" skillets and handles omelette turning extremely well. It is flexible enough not to tear and damage delicate foods such as omelettes, yet sturdy enough to detach burnt on hash browns from a cast iron skillet. Like the other silicone tools made by KitchenAid, it cleans up beautifully in the dishwasher (no leftover egg residue!). I would highly recommend this product.

I was disappointed with the spatula. It is too flexible and too large for my hand. My husband thought the size was okay but he too thought it was too flexible. It reminded me of a diving board!

5.0 out of 5 stars Big honkin tool, September 4, 2003
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For being a "short" turner, this is a big hefty tool. That's good, because it really is easy to hold and to handle with the thick handle. The cool blue color fits in with the rest of the cobalt blue line, which I have. It comes clean easy, unlike my old nylon set, where eggs would cake on.

But don't try to pick up heavy food with it, as the silicone is not rigid and will bend. After all, this is not a metal spatula. It's worth the price.

I have yet to be disappointed in any KitchenAid product. This turner is a handy size with good weight and very well made. Everyone deserves one of these in their kitchen. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Good all purpose turner
Calling it short is a misnomer - it's not that short - it's an average size. It has a rather bulky handle that is comfortable to hold but difficult to store. Read more
