Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Sturdy and stylish, this tool consists of a colander on a handle, forming a scoop that quickly drains pasta, vegetables, and shrimp right from the pot. The colander measures 7 inches wide and 8 inches long, ample for serving a generous portion of pasta with a single scoop, and is squared off at one end so it can scrape the bottom of a pot. Made of polished, 18/8 stainless steel, the colander scoop has a beautiful enamel-like handle with a hanging hole on the end. It's dishwasher-safe and measures 16 inches long overall. KitchenAid says the first year of the colander scoop's lifetime warranty against defects is hassle-free, with a replacement shipped at no cost and without question if a defect is detected. --Fred Brack

Product Description

Forget all that juggling with colanders and a stockpot full of boiling hot water and noodles. Use this scoop to gather your pasta without having to upend the pot. Also handy for retrieving fritters, wontons and so on from oil or broth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Tool I Have, December 7, 2004
I've never had a kitchen tool that is as handy as the KitchenAid Pasta Scoop. It's ideally sized for straining pasta, vegetables and stock. It's lightweight and cleans up much easier than a conventional colander. In fact, I just bought four more as gifts for friends and family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Handy, Well Made, January 23, 2007
I love my KitchenAid Scoop Colander. It is perfect for straining and it makes lifting a heavy pot of boiling water obsolete. It's sturdy and well made like all KitchenAid products and I find myself looking for reasons to use it. It is a very handy thing to have around and you'll love how it saves time in the kitchen, not to mention it limits burns from scalding water. I really can't cook without my KitchenAid Colander

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Kitchen Tool, March 27, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love this colander. No more scrubbing the tiny mesh holes of a strainer. Picks up all the big pieces of chicken and vegetables after I make chicken soup and strains the soup. The flat edge is ingenious as you can scrape right to the side of the pot with no metal edges sticking out like a strainer has. It's news to me that the handle isn't enamel and I would never leave any utensil in a hot pot for an extended period of time. I have this utensil for 3 years and it still looks like new. Buy this and you'll wonder how you ever did without it.
