Zoom Telephonics offers a complete line of DOCSIS 1.0 cable modems software upgradable to DOCSIS 1.1. Zoom cable modems feature a low-cost, highly integrated design and software-upgradable Media Access Control. All Zoom cable modems are certified by CableLabs, a highly respected, nonprofit research and development consortium of cable television system operators representing North America and South America.

The Model 5011 is Excite@Home Level 2 approved to meet the rigorous interoperability requirements of the @Home network. The @Home network consists of 3.2 million cable modem subscribers representing nearly 60 percent of domestic cable service.

The Zoom Model 5011 is a DOCSIS 1.0 (Data Over Cable Interface Specification) compliant cable modem that is supported by cable systems around the world.

Technical assistance is available 80 hours a week from Zoom's technical support staff. Additional technical support is always available at Zoom's Web site (www.zoom.com).

End user satisfaction is enhanced by exacting quality control standards, including in-circuit testing using sophisticated robotic equipment and an extensive functional test of every unit. This assures consistently high quality, reliability, and performance and minimizes the expense of downtime, customer service calls, repairs, and returns. I had a ZOOM USB dial up modem that I loved so I bought this one when I got my cable service. What can I say: you just hook it up and go. No drivers at all.

I bought this cable modem primarily because of the Cable Labs certification. Within 5 minutes of calling the cable company and giving them the MAC address, I was surfing the internet. Nothing to set - truly plug-and-play.
