In a genre often overwhelmed with flash and flamboyance, Gerald Levert is a low-key love man. The son of O'Jays belter Eddie Levert, Gerald has served up a string of hits since the mid-'80s, either with the trio LeVert ("Casanova"), the '90s supergroup LSG ("My Body"), or as a solo artist. Yet despite his sustained success, he remains underappreciated, which is a shame because what the gruff-voiced singer lacks in Q-ratings he makes up for with his rugged delivery of romantic songs. His first CD since 1999's G is another collection of tough but tender R&B--grown-up in focus but laced with just enough edgy attitude. The down-home, late-night "Soul Mate" and the unabashedly sentimental ballad "Made to Love Ya" find Gerald testifying passionately about love and life's ups and downs. Without breaking a sweat, he gives better-known superstars something to aim for. --Amy Linden

Gerald Levert is an R&B talent who (in my opinion) often goes unnoticed. On his latest CD, "Gerald's World", he does an excellent job of showcasing his vocal talent.

This CD is one of his best works. I listened to it completely without skipping one track and I enjoyed it. Of course the most popular track on this CD will be "Made To Love You" and deservedly so. Initially I didn't like "Dream with No Love" when it was released however this one has grown on me. Other tracks not to be missed are "Just Us", "What you Cryin About", "Forever You and Me"and "#1".

Fans of mellow R&B music will love this CD. It is a great mood setter.

I agree with reviewer Yolanda. Gerald Levert is an extremely talented gentleman that pretty much goes by unnotice. Yes he has had success but this man has never received his proper due. Hopefully with his latest and his best album to date he will get the all the praises that he deserves. The CD is terrific from track 1 to the final track 16. You can put this CD on and just relax . Gerald has taken the more old school soul approach on this CD then he has on his previous. Basically he did all the writing and producing himself this time around with a little help from Mike City who is responsible for a couple big hits the last couple of years I Wish- Carl Thomas, One Woman Man- Dave Hollister, Heard It All Before- Sunshine Anderson. Mike City contributed three uptemp tracks to the CD that are in the same vein as the songs mentioned .

It's pretty hard to really pick any favorites on this CD because all the songs are great but i have to say some of my favorites on this disc: " I Was Made To Love Ya", #1, You're A Keeper ,"Got Love", " What Are You Crying About" , "Forever You",

A nice addition to the CD " Dream With No Love" which originally can be found on the Bamboozled Soundtrack . The remix to the single I Was Made To Love Ya is very nice also.

If you looking for a CD that is soulful and romantic then this is the CD to pick up. You will enjoy this , Keep up the good work Gerald

I have always known that Gerald Levert has a masterful voice, but he was just one of those artists that I didn't have to have in my collection. If I bought it, then I bought it, and if I didn't, then I didn't-no sweat here. I have heard quite a few songs from this balladeer, and I can truly say that this latest offering is the best of the best! Gerald have never strayed far from the norm when it came to his love songs, but this time, it seems that he went above and beyond to make a lasting impression. The songs still have that old school groove, but a little updated flavor have been inserted to make each selection stand out on it's own. I have repeated this disc over and over and still find myself amazed that I am recommending it to all my people. I may not have collected all of his disc, but I am bold enough to say that THIS is one of his best!
