Editorial Reviews

Transworld Skateboarding takes skateboarding videos to a higher level with its latest feature, Sight Unseen. This 40-minute video makes boarding look less like a hobby or sport, and more like a graceful art. Great music, including catchy raps or a smooth beat, combined with precise and inventive editing gives Sight Unseen a sophistication lacking in most other boarding videos. But even with the extra polish, Transworld keeps it simple by focusing on just five main skaters, John Cardiel, Henry Sanchez, Tosh Townend, Dustin Dollin, and Heath Kirchart, who are at their best (and occasionally their worst). High points include an 18-stair jump by Dollin, tons of air time from Cardiel, bonus footage of Bob Burnquist doing the loop switch on his first try, and plenty of wipeouts. And don't miss the credits section at the end. It features even more offbeat and creative footage. --Neal Marks

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC, BUT CAREFUL WHICH VERSION U BUY!, May 23, 2002
One of the best skate video's ever made in my opinion (and ever since watching the Bones Brigade Video Show I've seen most of them), it's worth buying for John Cardiel's mind-blowing part alone!

The version you can buy ...(produced by Redline) whilst being amazing does not have any of the extras that you get if you buy this DVD from a skate shop (or direct from TWS), so it's up to you - 40 minutes from here, or an hour plus (including a guide to the accordian with Matt Hensley, outtakes, photo gallery, chomp trailer and alternate edits) if you get the "real" version....

5.0 out of 5 stars Sight Unseen is an amazing video!!, October 3, 2001
By A Customer
My 5 star rating refers to the Official Transworld release of this video. NOT the Redline release. The previous Redline release of a Transworld video (I.E.) was very disappointing. It was just one track with no extra features and crappy audio. I am assuming that this Redline release will be more of the same.

The Official Transworld release of Sight Unseen has all kinds of extra footage. Highly recommended!!

Do not buy the Redline release, BUY the Transworld release!!! You'll pay more, but at least you will be supporting the skateboarding industry, not someone making money off of it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Video - but don't get sucked in buy the real DVD, August 25, 2002
By A Customer
Apparently there are two versions of this DVD. The one you get from here distributed by Redline and the "Special Edition" one that has all the extra goodies...

I recommend this video it's one of my favorites, I all ready have the tape version of it, just was hoping to get the DVD version with all the extra bits like:

Improved edit and audio, Behind-the-Scenes footage, skater's and director's commentaries, additional audio and footage, photo archives with commentary, alternate intros, isolated audio score, plus much more

So when you order it make sure you get the "Special Edition" one.
