Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Panasonic KX-TG2451B GigaRange Extreme SST cordless phone features 2.4 GHz Digital Spread Spectrum Technology for better range, sound, and security than other cordless phones offer. Some of these qualities are enhanced by Panasonic features.

Time Division Duplex Technology alternates "send" and "receive" digital signals, which makes conversations difficult to monitor, giving you extra security. The Diversity Antenna System uses two omnidirectional antennas for increased signal sensitivity and sound quality indoors.

Among the standard features of the KX-TG2451B is its shock-resistant design. Special construction and a rubberized trim help the handset stand up to wear and tear. Call-waiting Caller ID can display the number of incoming callers even if you're on the line. Fifty names and numbers can be stored in memory for easy retrieval and callback.

A backlit three-line LCD on the handset makes it easy to see who's calling, and a lighted keypad allows for simple dialing in dark rooms. You can attach a headset and fasten the handset to your belt for hands-free conversation.

Product Description

The KX-TG2451B model offers tons of useful features that bring more comfort. This cordless phone with digital SST has a greater output power, thus providing clear sound and superb range, as well as enhanced security. With call waiting Caller ID compatibility, you can view the name and number of all incoming callers, even if you're already on the phone. The Caller ID memory feature stores data for up to 50 callers, for recall and direct callback capability. The backlit, multi-function LCD displays three lines of caller ID data, which lets you see the entire caller ID information for each call without scrolling. The LCD display is conveniently located on the back of your handset, so you can access it even if the handset is in the cradle.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good phone, February 12, 2002
By Julie M. "Chicago Lady" (Chicago, Illinois USA) - See all my reviews
This seems to be a very well-made phone. The reception is very clear. However, there is no speed-dialing. There is a directory to program up to 50 names alphabetically but you have to search the directory for the name and number then dial it. You cannot just program and assign 1 number to dial a number for you. I miss the speed dialing option, but being able to have a 50 name phone book built in is a nice feature.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard to Use + Poor Sound Quality, April 28, 2002
By A Customer
Bought this phone, charged it up and instantly noticed problems with the sound quality. Sound cut in and out frequently and it was hard to carry on a conversation. If the other end is another 2.4 system or a cell phone, the callee typically has a real hard time following the conversation. Also, this phone is hard to use which is apparently a typical problem with these new phones. I also really missed the 10 number speed dial. After fully charged I also found the handset very warm, almost too warm to handle. The keys are also very easy to accidently push which can cause problems if you are on the phone talking to someone. Yuck! Returned this one. I've experienced similar problems with other 2.4GHz phones, so this may be problematic for these new phones. I will probably go back to the less trendy but more reliable 900MHz phone line.
