The LCD has a 15-inch viewable area with 1,024 x 768 maximum resolution. With a contrast ratio of 400:1, the display is crisp. Intuitive OnView controls adjust contrast, brightness, input select, color (9300K, 6500K [default], video enhancement mode), information (mode, model number, serial number), manual image adjust (H. size, H. position, V. position, fine-tune, sharpness), setup menu (language, resolution notice, OSD position, OSD timeout), and memory recall.

In addition, the monitor boasts bezel-integrated 2-watt stereo speakers and a built-in microphone for bidirectional communications, further eliminating desktop clutter. The OptiSync technology supports multiple inputs for precise displays synchronized to any analog or digital computer signal, making the monitor ideal for multimedia tasks like video conferencing.

The base keeps the monitor stable even when the screen is tilted to its extremes, ranging from 160 degrees horizontal to 160 degrees vertical. The antistatic, antiglare screen features a treatment that refracts unwanted light away from you, and the VX500 is both TCO '95 and ENERGY 2000 compliant, in keeping with the strict standards for low radiation, safety, ergonomics, recycling, and power management.
