Product Description

Product Description

You own several "digital appliances" - for example, a digital video camcorder, digital camera, portable music player, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) or voice recorder - that use SmartMedia, CompactFlash or Memory Stick flash memory cards. They're easy and fun to use, and they capture digital images, songs, videos and other digital data that you can share with friends and family via your computer. Now SmartDisk solves this problem with its family of USB - based readers for SmartMedia, CompactFlash and Memory Stick. With the SmartDisk USB readers, you can transfer photographs from your digital camera, e-mail messages from your PDA, songs from your portable music player, movies or still images from your digital video camcorder and more.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not fully compatible, October 23, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: SmartDisk USB Single Slot Flash Media Reader for Sony Memory Stick (Electronics)
I purchased this unit to facilitate the exchange of jpeg's between my Sony Digital Camara and my desktop PC. While you can read and write data to the Memory Stick Reader with the PC, when you attempt to download files created on a Sony camara it will give an error of "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." The same files are accessible in my camara or Sony Notebook: they cannot be accessed with the SmartDisk Reader. My attempts with SmartDisk Technical Support were unsuccessful.

Don't purchase thid unit if you plan to use it with genuine Sony hardware.
