Product Description

Amazon.com Review

The Bosch 3860K drill/driver makes its presence felt on the job site. Two speed settings, with variable speeds for each, and a 16-position torque control put you in charge. Switch effortlessly from high speed to high torque for jobs that need a little extra muscle, then switch back on the fly. The enclosed side handle attaches easily to either side of the tool for better control and stability on tough drilling jobs. A slim design and solid metal casing add to the overall durability and design, while a soft-grip, easy-touch trigger and safety stop make this tool a joy to use. All in all, the Bosch 18-volt drill/driver is a solid performer that will quickly find a place among your most frequently used power tools. --Carl Thress

5.0 out of 5 stars Navy Blue is the Best, December 16, 2001
By "agentpik" (United States) - See all my reviews
After researching and testing different brands of cordless drills, I chose the Bosch 3860 and do not regret my purchase. This is my first Bosch purchase and my purchase was based upon hearing good reports on Bosch's reliability and durability. I mostly do remodeling projects. While I haven't had this drill for an extended period of time, I can already tell that Bosch knows how to build good power tools. The drill has plenty of power and is built like a tank. It's a bit heavier than my DeWalt 9.6 volt, but lighter than other 18 volt cordless drill I have tested. It is very well balanced and comfortable to use during extended periods of work. The drill will also stand up using the battery as a base. This drill has 475 in/lbs of torque with 16 clutch settings. The adjustable clutch ring is also made of metal where other drills have a plastic clutch ring. it is very well balanced, although the handle is a bit thick. If the exterior build qaulity is any indication of how well made the internal components are, this drill should be around for a long time before needing any motors or gears replaced. The seams between the exterior casing are hardly noticed; much better than that of other best selling industrial cordless drills. I am extremely pleased with this drill purchase and plan to purchase more Bosch tools in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Killer Drill, January 24, 2002
By Karl Anderson (Yorba Linda, CA USA) - See all my reviews
If your looking for a good drill like I was not too long ago, than look no further, trust me you won't be dissappointed. I,ve used every major brand of drills, DeWalt, Milwaukie, Porter Cable etc. All of which are decent, but none match this fine drill. It out torks the DeWalt 18 volt and handles much better, the variable trigger is superb and the battery life is outstanding. I'm a residential electrician and drill alot of holes, this baby goes through studs and joists like butter and keeps on tickin, fast recharge as well. This drill is ideal for everything from a power drill to a screw gun. Bosch is the best!

I love this thing! I was amazed at how powerful it is. This drill will drill through just about everything. I have tried many drills from other brands and they just don't compare.
