SpongeBob Squarepants - Sponge Buddies
Jellyfishing: When SpongeBob and Patrick find Squidward is recovering from a bicycling accident, they decide to take him jellyfishing so he can have his "best day ever." Unfortunately, their good intentions wreak havoc on Squidward's recovery efforts. Dying for Pie: Squidward is guilt ridden when he accidentally lets SpongeBob eat an exploding pie. To alleviate his guilt, Squidward resolves to make SpongeBob's few remaining hours enjoyable. And boy, does that make Squidward more miserable than ever! Wormy: Sandy's taking a trip and puts SpongeBob and Patrick in charge of her pet caterpillar. When the caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly overnight, SpongeBob and Patrick are convinced this new creature ate "Wormy" and is now after them and the rest of Bikini Bottom! F.U.N: SpongeBob is convinced that Plankton's so evil because he's lonely and needs friends. To prove it, SpongeBob befriends Plankton and the two start spending time together. Unfortunately, everyone sees that Plankton is using SpongeBob to get to the secret krabby patty recipe. It's up to Mr. Drabs to reveal Plankton's plot to SpongeBob. Club SpongeBob: SpongeBob and Patrick's clubhouse is atop a really tall tree and there's no room for Squidward. Literally. But Squidward forces his way in, "propelling" the clubhouse into the middle of nowhere. Feeling hopelessly lost, Squidward begins to panic. But SpongeBob and Patrick put their trust in the "magic conch."

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Cartoons, March 21, 2002
By Tyler Antoine (Houston, DE USA) - See all my reviews
Spongebob Squarepants is BY FAR one of the best, if not the best, cartoon(s) on television at this time. Being 13, you wouldn't expect someone like me enjoying cartoons, but Spongebob is funny for everyone.
"JELLYFISHING" This episode, a good starter to the video, shows how Spongebob longs to be Squidward's friend...and Squidward can't stand it.
"DYING FOR PIE" One of those left-turn-in-the-last-minute sort of caroons.
"WORMY" This episode displays how blissfully ignorant Patrick and Spongebob are...and how much we enjoy that fact.
"F.U.N." One of the trademark Spongebob episodes, you will not be able to get the FUN song out of your head!
"CLUB SPONGEBOB" This episode is a little long-winded, but enjoyable figuring it's never been on TV before.
If you're looking for something different, or to just keep the kids quite for an hour, this video is the right thing for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Gotta Have" Videos for the Kids!, May 18, 2002
.
Scoring:

5 Stars: Kids - They love Sponge Bob and all his quirky friends!

5 Stars Parents - Shows are good basic fun.

4 Stars Violence - minimal violence, lots of slapstick

2 Stars Educational - Won't get that here!

Summary:

"Sponge Bob" is a lovable, fun loving sponge who gets into ridiculous situations with his less than dumb best friend "Patrick Star" (starfish) in their hometown of "Bikini Bottom".

Other Characters:

Adding to the mix are a bunch of real characters like:

"Gary", Sponge Bob's pet snail that purrs like a cat;

"Sandy Cheeks", a happy and sociable squirrel who lives under water;

"Mr. Crabs", the money hungry owner of the Crusty Crab;

"Squidward", Sponge Bob's art loving, boring, nasal neighbor who despises Sponge Bob's ridiculous antics;

"Plankton", the tiny loud mouthed, one-eyed, single celled, megalomaniac who tries to steal Mr. Crab's crabby patty "secret recipe";

Scare Factor:

None, except that you and your kids might become addicted!

Violence:

Much better than the Bugs Bunny antics we grew up on; the characters show minimal violence towards each other, but enthrall themselves in their hilarious comedic situations.

Also see "Nautical Nonesense"

5.0 out of 5 stars Just the best, March 6, 2002
By W. Bishop "mrswendee" (Durham, CA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
If you don't think SpongeBob, et al, is funny, you simply don't have a sense of humor. These episodes are cutting edge hilarious and can be enjoyed at every level. The great thing is being able to watch it along with our 3 year old and not being bored senseless as in other shows - the writers have hit the same winning formula as Bugs Bunny - funny to both adults and children but for different reasons. There seems to be something new to catch each time an episode is watched. Two words - buy it!!
