Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory introduces all the basic concepts of music through concise lessons, followed by short exercises for immediate reinforcement. The interactive software includes narration, animated examples, and clickable elements for aural reinforcement during the presentation of lesson material. Exercise screens display an identifying bar, goals are set for each exercise, and points are awarded for each correct answer. Drills can be practiced repeatedly to build solid understanding of concepts. Questions are randomized to provide reinforcement of material without duplicating the program's sequence. Each series of lessons and exercises is followed by a section of ear training. Examples are performed with real, not synthesized, instruments, and students have the opportunity to play the exercise several times to thoroughly understand what they are hearing.

I don't know what kind of setup that guy has, but the software works fine on my Windows XP system. ...

They have a downloads page on their website ...that updates this program for any computers that have any incompatibilities whatsoever.

The program is as great as I heard it was. It was recommended by a teacher at a Middle School, who uses the Network Version of the software with his classroom.

After much effort, our friends at Alfred not only got the program running properly, but convinced me that they are concerned about customer service.
An excellent piece of software, and a serious custoemr support group. A usefule and well thought out program as well.

I started out thinking that this might be a fun and useful tool. Unfortunately, the program will not run on my system (Windows XP), although that is not what one would expect from the "system requirements" listed among "Item Information". I contacted Alfred for support, and was basically told "Tough luck". Nice people. Stay away from this item.
