More Of The Imperfect Cell Saga, November 12, 2002

This vhs contains 3 episodes:Episode 131: Our Hero Awakens: Cities ruin as the mighty Cell marches to asorb lifeforce and energy. In his quest to drain a pair of civillians, the lizard-like creation picks a battle with Krillin! And in the meanwhile, Goku awakens from his sleep.... and is he ready to defeat the terrible Androids 16,17 and 18 and the horrific Cell? Episode 132: Time Chamber: As Goku awakens, he takes Trunks, Vegeta and Gohan up to the Lookout as Cell continues to furiosly drain the energy of unexpected citizens of numerous cities. Goku springs his plan into action, by allowing them to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber on the Lookout, they could train for a year in an intense world for one day, using the special power inside the chamber! As Vegeta and Trunks enter the chamber to begin their yearly training, the Androids arrive at Goku's house! Finding out that he isn't there, they arrive at Master Roshi's island to learn where he is hiding. But in an attempt to distract them, and hopefully defeat them and stop Cell from gaining ultimate power by asorbing them, Piccolo goes off with them for a little battle! Episode 133: The Monster Is Coming: Vegeta and Trunks furiosly train under the intense gravity and tempreature of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, while Gohan and Goku wait outside for them to finish. In the meanwhile, Piccolo powers up and clashes against Android 17, using his Namekian fighting skills to defeat the robot. But he must hurry, for Cell is on his way!

Good Episodes, Bad Menus, April 6, 2002
First off, I need to say that these are some of the best episodes of the Imperfect Cell saga. Goku awakens, Vegeta and Trunks submerge themselves into the hyperbolic time chamber, and Piccolo begins an epic, and one of the most even fights in the series, his battle with Android 17. The DVD is loaded with previews for other FUNimation products, and contains the English and Japanese subtitled versions of the episodes. The one problem with this DVD is the menus. They look much nicer than they ever have before and are completely animated, but they exclude anything to identify what menu you are entering. Getting where you want without labels or a highlight of your location on a menu is excruciatingly difficult, and becomes a major inconvenience. I recommend this DVD all Dragon Ball fans, but it should be reminded that patience is a virtue, and you will need a lot of it with this DVD.

Plans for Victory, June 17, 2004
This DVD contains three enjoyable episodes of the fairly boring Imperfect Cell saga. I say boring because despite the fact that this is when the entire Androids\Cell saga really starts moving, it still drives at a fairly slow pace. Cell roams around various cities, sucking the bio-extract from literally every human being, while the Z fighters gather their wits and decide how they plan to destroy this new menace. In this particular DVD, we witness Goku wake up from his sick bed, the hyperbolic time chamber and the reason for its usage, and finally an astounding fight between Android 17 and Piccolo. If you don't want to miss the Androids\Cell saga in its entirety, then buy it, but if not, then just wait for the Cell Games.
