Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Designed for ideal baking results, this Emile Henry Le Potier lidded casserole is perfect for a tuna and pasta standard or a more elaborate cassoulet. Its weighty structure is deep and roomy with an attractive ribbed exterior and tab handles. The lid sits securely and heavily, and the piece goes directly from the freezer to the oven for efficient prep time. It is also safe in the microwave, broiler, and dishwasher.

Dating back to 1850, Emile Henry has been crafting bakeware from high-fired premium Burgundy clay in France. The pieces are incredible durable, handsome yet functional, and designed to heat both gently and evenly. A special surface treatment ensures that the glossy glaze is scratch-resistant and does not chip, crack, or craze under typical use. Each piece of bakeware or tableware is individually inspected, comes in a variety of fresh-looking colors, and includes a three-year warranty against defects. --Emily Bedard

5.0 out of 5 stars 3-Quart Round Casserole, March 2, 2003
By "mehemphill" (Newton, KS United States) - See all my reviews
THE EMILE HENRY 3-QUART ROUND CASSEROLE IS INVALUABLE TO MY KITCHEN. I PREPARE POTROASTS, BAKED BARBEQUE PORKCHOPS AND TUNA CASSEROLE IN THE 3-QUART ROUND. AS ALWAYS, THE FOOD COOKS EVENLY WITHOUT STICKING AND REMAINS MOIST AND HOT. THE CASSEROLE DISH LOOKS ATTRACTIVE ON MY DINNER TABLE AND PERFECTLY MATCHES MY DISHES. COOKING HAS BECOME ENJOYABLE AGAIN WITH EMILE HENRY POTIER.

bought this on sale, love Emile Henry, this is a wonerful piece of fine cookware.Easy clean up.So far I cooked a roast and is was really good the dish locks in the juices, and I even tried baking a cake in it,for fun.I was suprised it was so beatiful i made me wonder why I was using my old cake pans......................I have not put in the dishwasher,I prefer to wash by hand,I avoid chipping that way.well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love that Burgundian Clay!, March 4, 2006
This Emile Henry blue cassarole is not just another pretty face! It is so great for oven stews and pot roasts. I learned the hard way with my first one not to put cold water into a hot pot, (DUH!) so I will be more careful with this one, but Ohhh the glorious flavors it engenders! Sublime tender pot roasts and New England "boiled" dinners like my Gramma taught me.
