Product Description

From the Developer
Delta Force: Task Force Dagger is based on missions from Operation Enduring Freedom. Players take control as one of 10 different Special Forces soldiers over 25 intense and varied missions set in Afghanistan. Only the best of the best are selected to become members of the 2/75th RANGER, SEAL Team 6, CIA Spec Ops, the UK SAS 22 Regiment, SFOD-SF Viper Team (Green Berets), Australian SASR, Canadian JTF-2, Marine Force Recon, USAF CSAR (Air Force Pararescue), and, of course, SFOD-Delta.

Missions take place deep in enemy territory, from Kandahar to Mazar-i-Sharif to Tora Bora. Delta Force Operatives raid rebel headquarters, take control of a local airport, ambush enemy convoys, and destroy key SAM and SCUD missile sites.

Utilizing NovaLogic's updated Land Warrior engine, Task Force Dagger has been designed by Zombie Studios as a stand-alone mission pack with new characters, weapons, and single and multiplayer levels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Game, May 27, 2002
By Bloodlust (Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
Delta Force: Task Force Dagger is the next in the line of, so far, 3 other Delta Force games, the last being Land Warrior and the next, Black Hawk Down. All have been created mainly by Novalogic, but this time they are being assisted by Zomebie Studios.
Ok, now to the good stuff! Task Force Dagger is supposed to contain about 30 new weapons, and 25 new missions, but probably one of the coolest features is that you can choose from different types of characters, not just gunner, sniper, cqb, medic, nader, from Land Warrior, but things such as SEALS, Army Rangers, and, of course, Delta Force operatives. The enourmous levels given out by Novalogic and enourmous servers hosting countless numbers of players won't stop in this game either.
The game was planned to be released on May 22nd i believe, but was pushed back until June 26th, and God knows why Amazon but nobody else has it, so it may be better to wait a little while before purchasing the game, because the only real point to buy the game is for the multiplayer ability.
Stats are recorded. Your time in the hill, number of flags captured, kills, shots, everything. That is one awesome feature, and the better your statistics are, the higher you move up in rank. The single player game is the only weakness of the franchise, enemies have never been very smart, and a simple one shot with the pistol in the leg can take an enemy down. More teamwork could be used in the missions as well as other features, but the co-operative mode can be a blast, but can be pretty dull sometimes.
The game comes with a mission editor in which levels can be created by the public and played on Novaworld. That is also an interesting feature that proves to be very beneficial, even though the maps created by Novaworld are also pretty wonderful.
This game has got to be one of the greatest multiplayer marvels of all time, and will give the various Star Wars and other multiplayer games a run for their money, with almost all players that have Land Warrior already hellbent on picking up this next game in the popular series.
The only down side is the single player missions, but users can also create their own, and multiplayer is all you'll really do once you get the game. It's a great game and i recommend you to purchase it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Naysaysers have it wrong!, June 30, 2002
By N. Gerber (State College, PA United States) - See all my reviews

This game has improved graphics over Delta Force Land Warrior. Anybody who says otherwise has NOT tried this game yet. When you are looking through your scope your sights will wobble a bit when standing, but the more secure your stance the less this happens (an improvement over solid stances in DFLW). As an avid gun enthusiast I can say this game has the most realistic aiming and ballistics I have seen yet in a video game. The AI has been improved but not by much.

In another review I read on this site somebody claimed Novalogic never updates their games. I think he should check the Novalogic site as a few weeks ago they released a patch for Delta Force Land Warrior which at least temporarily hampered the cheaters that use trainers which can do such things as unlimited ammo or extreme zooms. I love this game and it is definitely worth buying!

5.0 out of 5 stars To each his, or her, own..., March 7, 2003
By David Michael Brandt "brandtart" (Glendale, Ca United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Being a fan of Novalogic's Delta Force series, and military FPS' in general, I was stoked when this game hit the shelves last Summer. This game didn't disappoint me and I'm still playing it regularly 6 months or so later. I've played both SOF's, Rainbow Six, Wolfenstein, etc and none of them grab me like these DF games do; especially DFTFD! Many argue that the Afghanistan backdrop was a marketing device, and make complaints about the game's weak enemy AI, but let's face gaming reality people:

single play is for basic training, what really makes this game is it's multi-play and it's as-you-go miltary ranking system. As anyone who's played these games knows when you make General, after struggling for so long to get there, you really feel like you've accomplished something. Another MAJOR point in favor of this game is the no hassle servers provided by Novalogic. No Game Spy type hassles here, just log on and let that M4 Sopmod rip on automatic. Any game has its problems (Wolfenstein anyone?)
but TFD's are overshadowed by great multi play, up to the minute storyline, new weaponry, and Novalogic's excellent servers. Now that it's less than 20 bucks, with Novalogic's latest
Black Hawk Down arriving in stores in a few days, you won't get so bummed if you dont dig the game.
