The JVC RC-BX530 portable stereo contains many of the essential audio components needed for a stereo small and light enough for on-the-go music enjoyment. With the CD and cassette tape players, plus the FM/AM radio, there are plenty of options for listening and recording. The RC-BX530 has a CD syncro start recording, with auto record level, to make recording your favorite CDs a quick chore. The full-range, dual speakers have cloth covered grilles and provide two watts of power. The five preset equalizer patterns (flat/rock/jazz/pop/classic), allow this portable stereo to sound like a proper home stereo system. The CD player supports audio CDs, plus recorded CD-R/RW discs. Other features of the CD player include: random play, repeat, intro scan and a sixteen-track programmable play mode. The large LCD display makes adjustments easy to accomplish. The stereo comes with a full function remote control and an AC adaptor.

I bought a JVC RC-BX530 portable CD player for my office.
Shortly after the 30/90 day warranty gave out, the player began to present itself with problems that to this day are still there and I cannot seem to find a solution...
The LID NEVER stays closed. Oh, it APPEARS closed but the unit says differently. After opening and closing and opening and closing several times it might decide to display the numbers and finally begin to play... OR -- it might not! One minute my relaxation music or lovely audio book is playing along and suddenly *** BOOM ! *** it stops to tell me "NO DISC". Now, I look in through the window and I can swear I see a disc but, it still says no disc. OPEN - CLOSE - OPEN - CLOSE - No disc - OPEN - CLOSE - begins to play.... STOPS - now it displays "Err" ~ should say "Grrr" because that's how I feel. I start the parade all over again and finally give up. Toss the relaxation CD. Go get my cassette player and throw in some Ozzy. It will cost more for me to ship this unit off for repair than its worth.
I will NEVER buy another JVC product again in my life. EVER!
I recommend you vow the same and save yourself the frustration.
Oh...I like the remote...but that's about it...and I can get that from another, more "RELIABLE" product.
