Happy Happy!, September 2, 2005
Freedom Call. The name brings a smile to the faces of those who love the band as well as spite and distate by those who don't. In case you don't know, Freedom Call is a band that prides itself on making the happiest, most feel-good music you'll ever hear.
Well, they succeed.
This music is happy. It incorporates huge, sing-along choruses, ultra-melodic riffs, lots of keyboards, and vocals that soar like eagles and turns this 'Eternity' into one big smile after another. Happy is an understatement as far as this album goes, and this will undoubtedly turn some people off, but the ones who are looking for the happiest of the happiest Power Metal will love this as much as I do. The happiness is an overpowering sense of euphoria that no album I've heard has ever duplicated, and it's oddly refreshing.
The technical proficiency of the band is best described as very compitent. While the solos aren't the best you'll ever hear, they do very well in pulling them off. Where the band excells most in, however, is the songwriting. Each song varies from the last and in such a way that you are somewhat sorry that the song is over, but can't wait to get to the next song of high spirits and infectious choruses.
There are absolutely no complaints about the production. Everything as as it should be: crystal clear and bright as the sun. From the bright keyboards used in abundance with cheesiness galore to the perfectly thick guitars and bright and happy vocals.
The one thing that strikes me most about this album is the atmosphere. No matter how sad or depressed or angry I am, this album will always be there to lend me smiles. So is this album cheesy? Yes. Is it generic? Maybe, but these elements just add to its charm. Smiles!

Posi metal!, July 18, 2003
Feeling down? Life got you in the dumps? Sad about a recent turn of events in your life? Angry at the world, your job, people around you? Wish you could find some way to cheer up and feel happy and hopeful once again? The answer: ETERNITY! Nothing will put a smile instantly on your face like this album. From start to finish (excepting the rather sad, but still awesome, closer) this is positive, upbeat, energetic metal. In fact, this could be the happiest metal band in the history of the style! The mix is good; the production is top notch. The music really calls to mind the images on the cover and booklet, although there does not appear to be a theme or concept to the album. The guitarists, while obviously musically adept, eschew mindless scale-shredding in favor of hummable, memorable, melodic lines that add to the music infinitely. Listening to this, the one impression that comes through loud and clear is that this is feel-good music. It never fails to pull my spirit up into the clouds, no matter how low I may be. Better than most therapy.

Bloody good, July 8, 2003
Freedom Call is what you call fantasy power metal, so you are sure to get cheesy lyrics about heroes and dragons etc. But if that doesn't bother you (and I love it) you will really enjoy this album. This is one of Freedom Call's best albums, the first track, Metal Invasion, is a long one at around 7 min and has an excellent opera style opening. The entire album is very fast power metal with the exception of two ballads: Bleeding Heart and Flame in the Night. Even though these two are slower, they still pack a punch and make me want to shed a tear. The only bad part about this album are the photos of the band inside the cd case. Particularly the one where the whole band is smiling at the camera... it's creepy.
