The HP Business Inkjet 2230 is designed for power users and small workgroups who need to print professional color documents quickly and cost-effectively. This robust printer delivers sharp, accurate printing for both desktop and networked environments. Optional networking is supported through two open EIO slots. Reduce printing costs with the 2230's four individual high-capacity ink cartridges (CMYK) so you change only the ones needed, contributing to a color cost per page of just 8.4 cents and 2.2 cents black and white (based on 5% average ink coverage for each color).

Product Description

The HP Business Inkjet 2230 was designed for power users who need to print color documents quickly. This affordable printer produces quality color documents at 7.5 ppm normal mode and 14 ppm fast mode. When upgraded with the optional language and EIO networking cards, it can be shared across a network or connected to the Internet for printing e-services and easy remote management.

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, Fast, and Loud, January 6, 2003
By "eric_stephen" (Ada, MI USA) - See all my reviews
If you find yourself printing a lot of text, this is a great printer to have, even if it is just for your home computer. It is simply a very fast inkjet printer. I had an initial problem getting it to feed straight that was corrected by tightening up the paper guides as the manual said. Getting the print heads loaded was also an experience, but not impossible.

Pros:
Seperate Color Ink C/Y/M/Blk
Fast Printing speed
Large paper capacity
Built in processor and 16 mb of memory
Accepts HP EIO card for 10/100 or Wireless print server
Accepts postscript card and additional memory
Also accepts upgrade card for USB connection

Cons:
Loud. Very loud
Built in parallel connection only
Older photo printing technology
larger desktop footprint
inks are seperate but still expensive

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well for a color printer, July 14, 2004
By A Customer
Works very well for a color inkjet printer. You need to look at the printer to see when the ink is running low, but other wise no gripes. It works very well with windows xp. It also is able to hold out. I use this at work for printing invoices all the time and it works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Printer I now have 5 of them!, April 13, 2004
By A Customer
I have 5 of these, and what can I say? They have cut down on cost, they are quiet, they are fast, and they are slick! I don't know why the other guy was saying that this was not for business use. Yes, it does only have a 150 sheet capacity, but it prints so quick that you don't have to start the print job then go home and wait until morning for your 500 sheets of color to print. FIRM THUMBS UP!

This is a great printer from HP and far faster then it's replacement is. I am still buying any refurbished models I can for the office. They should still make it.
