A terrific compact, all-purpose two-way speaker. Great as a left/right main, surround, or even a center speaker, the Cambridge SoundWorks' MC100 matches our other Newton Series™ compact speakers stylistically, and they have matched driver components. The MC100 has a ¾ silk-fabric soft dome tweeter with Neodymium magnet structure, and a 3 ½ midrange driver that will play down to 100 Hz. This means that they will handle a wide range of high to mid-frequencies, and matched with a Newton Series subwoofer, will cover the entire audio spectrum richly and accurately.

The drivers are enclosed in a Newton-style asymmetric glass-reinforced ABS plastic cabinet. The new cabinet design looks great, and sounds better. Asymmetrically curved cabinets all but eliminate distortion-causing reflections known as standing waves.

By combining this larger cabinet design with a new smaller (but more powerful) Neodymium-magnet motor structure, we have dramatically increased the air space inside the speaker cabinet--and more air space means flatter, deeper frequency response and better sound.

I am constantly amazed at the sound from these little guys. Who needs big ugly dinosuar speakers, or big book-like bookshelf speakers when you could have these? And for the price, you can't beat them. I have been a loyal fan of Cambridge Soundworkss over the years- and have to ask -aren't the other speaker companies embarressed by what they ask people to pay? You'd have to be a fool - or have a low self image to pay through the nose for good sound. Thanks Camrbidge for being a realist!

Surprisingly good sound for such small speakers. A warm sounding small room speaker - very good treble and mid range, Very nice looking with quality connections and construction.

Ideal for a bedroom, office or den or as rear surrounds in home theatre situation when you don't want large "look at me" speakers. I used a pair as my main L-R channels for two years until my partner agreed to let me go larger. Highly recommended.
