If you are in search of a fantastic complete audio source to add to your existing amplified speakers, Cambridge SoundWorks' MusicWorks center section is the solution. The MusicWorks center section has an AM/FM tuner, a single CD player, a multi-function LCD display, digital clock, and a preamp-level output designed to drive powered multimedia loudspeakers, such as the Cambridge SoundWorks PC Works, MicroWorks or MegaWorks Systems. The four-position preset equalizer includes Rock, Jazz, Classical, and Normal modes, enabling you to recreate different acoustic environments. A computer mix input is included so that you can use MusicWorks with your PC. Just plug in your computer's audio output, sound will pass through MusicWorks unaltered so that the computer's audible messages can be heard on the same speakers used for listening to radio or CD.

This unit, with the SoundWorks speakers, does sound great. I have it in my office at work, and my co-workers frequently comment on the great sound. The CD player in mine failed within days of the warranty expiration. Rest of the unit still works, and I've patched my portable CD player into the auxiliary input, but it was pretty disappointing to have it fail so quickly. I'd give it five stars on sound, one for reliability, for an average of three.

You need to remember that this unit does not come with its own speakers. I already had the Cambridge Soundworks Microworks speakers and hooked it up to that. This actually sounds better than my home audio system.
