Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Alex Andero, a testosterone-driven dreamer who works in his family owned Greenwich Village café, dreams about making it big as a Hollywood screenwriter. Alex gets his big break when he gets a chance to pitch a story to a big movie producer. Alex who never even has written one script and determined not to spend the rest of his life as a dishwasher, finds his solution in Elliott Springer, a talented, gay, Jewish writer. Elliott, although completely opposed to the idea or collaborating on a script he considers to be nothing more than fluff. Elliott finally agrees to participate only after Alex promises to help him get a date with Joey (Kerr Smith, "Dawson s Creek"), the cute struggling actor who works with Alex at the café. Their relationship is fraught with complications as they forge an unlikely working partnership. By the end of this heartwarming, laugh-out-loud comedy, Alex and Elliott have not only written a great screenplay, they have rewritten each other's lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why Can't Hollywood Do Films Like This??, September 5, 2002
No, really..... why can't "Hollywood" make films of this caliber? This is just like, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, in terms of being a great film that relies on story, plot & acting to carry the film, not big name stars or big time special effects. I loved the movie and laughed all the way through. I only wish more people had had a chance to see it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A surprisingly good movie!, June 18, 2001
Hit and Runway is the story of two writers that come to work together through destiny. However, this is not your run of the mill story, as destiny works in mysterious ways to get its outcome.

This turned out to be a hilarious and well-written film with very intense and very real characters. From obsessive protagonists to homosexual jews., the characters are amusing from the beginning. Some scenes had the audience rolling in their seats, and others had the audience writhing in both fear and awe.

At any rate, this is a wonderful movie that will hopefully come to all theaters soon! Go see it if you get a chance!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Surprisingly Sweet and Touching Comedy, January 31, 2003
By T. Halkin "Tim" (Munich, Germany) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
What starts out on the level of "Kiss Me Guido" or "Just One Time" dares to actually go one level deeper. If Woody Alan would ever get in touch with his feminine side, he could have written this screenplay.

For film industry people, the plot, and its devices, requires a certain amount of suspension of disbelief at times (or at least the ability to close one eye occasionally), but the little surprises, twists and arcs will touch even the most jaded amongst us.

Very commendable performances by both Michael Parducci and Peter Jacobson.

Long live the indi film industry!
