Product Description
A GOD YOU CAN DANCE is an album of poetry readings combined with music and songs. The 27 poems and 4 songs celebrate the divinity found in everyday life. The readers include the poet, Rachel Dacus, and actors David Dacus, Dana Evans, Ken Hastings and Leslie Linn. The four songs are composed and performed by Mary Shepard, with lyrics based on poems by Rachel Dacus. Musicians Gary Leuenberger, Christopher Krotky and John Alevizakis scored the readings with innovative, original music and sound effects.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whimsical monologues of mind and heart!, December 7, 2002
By A Customer
I'm not sure if this may have come from NPR, refreshing little bursts of thought...yes it's spoken poetry but not artificial or self-conscious ... it is more like the inner monologues we usually have going during the day, but always with a twist that elevates the observation to find a new meaning in the most ordinary things.... widely varied, some of them have light sound effects and music, some work better than others, but the variety keeps it fresh with repeated listenings. Listen while commuting, on an exercise walk, etc. as well as at home... A booklet in the CD has all the words to the poems - If you like Billy Collins or Rumi, you'll like this.
