Product Description

From the Manufacturer
The only undefeated horse to win the Triple Crown, Seattle Slew was honored as the Horse of the Year in 1977. Considered one of the leading sires of the late 20th century, Seattle Slew fathered equally great legends like Swale, who won the Kentucky Derby in 1984, as well as A.P. Indy, Slew O' Gold and Capote.

Product Description
Purchased as a yearling by a group of friends for a mere $17,500, Seattle Slew became the 10th horse - and the only undefeated horse - to ever win horse-racing's prestigious Triple Crown in 1977. The dark bay colt then went on to become one of the leading sires of the late 20th century and part of an elite group of Kentucky Derby winning sires that have sired a Kentucky Derby winner. Traditional-sized model.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seattle Slew, October 22, 2004
A Kid's Review
Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This model is great for anyone especially if you love history horses. The Seattle Slew model is great not only because of his neck thing of roses and his tall dark and handsome shape but because he was a TRIPLE CROWN WINNER! He's just an awsome model and would be a great addition to your collection. The only complaints I can think of are that you have to be very delicate with the flower thing or the flowers start falling off and Seattle Slew's back left leg bends in a little bit which prevents him from standing on carpet evan though he can stand on a hard evan surface. Make sure to check out the models, War Admiral(Triple Crown Winner) and Seabiscuit to.

This is a wonderful piece with the nice addition of Slew's blanket of roses from his winning Kentucky Derby. The likeness is remarkable, the quality and attention to detail top-notch. Breyer horses have come a long way since I was a kid, that's for sure! Slew has an honored place next to Affirmed and Secretariat in my china cabinet.
