5.0 out of 5 stars This CD is OFF the HOOK!, May 27, 2003
By Chad Thorson (Omaha, NE USA) - See all my reviews
I have purchased a previous Lil Jon & the Eastside Boys CD, and enjoyed 3-5 songs. I just purchased this CD and have listened to it twice. I have to say that this CD is definately off the hook! The hottest song on the album is "Get Low." After that, the best songs are "Bi**h" "Ooh na na.." "Nothin on" "Throw it up" "Rep yo city" and definately "Weedman." Basically, the only tracks I skip are the skits! This is the best dirty south rap CD I have heard in a LONGGGG time. I have a 15" subwoofer for my computer, and feeling the bass on this CD makes me want to go and get a system for my car! If you don't have this cd....WHY????

1.0 out of 5 stars Stunned, December 13, 2003
By A Customer
I am simply stunned that others cannot see the beauty of this blissful album. When lead singer Slicey Dice speaks in dulcet tones of his tender yearnings for his ice princess, a soul mate whom he's adored chastely from afar for lo these many years...well, I just get goosebumps. People don't understand that the constant stream of obscene invective is merely the black velvet against which these lyrical gems of true love are set. They stand out all the more for their being placed before such a harsh background. It's really just a metaphor for a life of pure spiritual devotion in this squalid material world. The composer/lyricist Spunk Man P is a genuine poet who rivals Donne in his fusion of flesh and spirit, the tactile and the holy. Consider, for instance, this touching refrain from "Cut Dat B*tch Up!" (track 23): "Ain' nuthin' but a g*** all up in her c*** cuz dat b*tch had to git it good, muthaf*cka!" Can we not hear, in that insinuatingly subtle rhythmic shift just after the enjambment, a whole world of spiritual longing and tender remembrance, against which the vile epithets simply wither away, leaving us naked and truly alive before the essence of God himself? Only the crudely literal-minded would see anything remotely misogynistic in such language. It seems, alas, that Slicey and Spunk Man are destined to join the ranks of the truly great poets who will never be understood and appreciated during their lifetimes. This one's for the ages, folks!

4.0 out of 5 stars ^^GeT CRuNk^^, November 5, 2003
By Anthony (Bothell, WA USA) - See all my reviews
I love this cd! Sure it's loud, sure it's repetitive, sure lil jon has absolutely no MC'ing skills, but that's what makes it so great! This isnt a cd you can take completely seriously, and it's not meant to be. If you want to act BUCKWILD and get ^^CRUNK^^ then DEFINITELY BUY THIS!!!!
