As much as they sound like they came from the beaches of Southern California, Authority Zero hails from Arizona. You'd never know it to listen to A Passage In Time though, because the band balances their skatepunk sound with liberal dashes of ska, reggae and surf rock. It's an interesting mix, but it pays off. They end up sounding like Pennywise if they spent more time at the beach. The style is solid but unfortunately, the songs are sometimes uneven. "One More Minute" is 6-minutes of ska-punk brilliance, but some songs like "Superbitch" lean towards having tepid unoriginal lyrics. Thankfully, the music goes by so fast it's difficult to notice shortcomings, and in the end, you're left with an exciting CD that shows a lot of promise.

A Passage In Time is such a great album, everyone needs to go out and buy it. Its almost as if its wriiten by gods. The way Jason sings and the way Jeremy, Bill, and Jim all play it's so awesome, every time I hear this band play I feel like nothing bad can happen,it's all gunna be ok. These guys just know what their fans want and need, and they give it to us 100% If you are a fan of Sublime and just the whole Ska-Punk scene, and you don't have this album already, you have to go out and buy it, I promise you will love it just as much as I do. Every time I hear "One More Minute" or any other song like "Over Seasons" or the rad, loud, fast song "Sky's The Limit" on the radio or wherever I can't help but sing the words becuase you love um so much. they're embedded into your brain. Its just that kinda band where all there songs will never leave you head and you're always siging them, I love that. I don't think I could tell someone not to go out and buy this cd. And its NOT emo! wahoo! ok, so to I think you all get the point... GO GET THIS CD!... You'll love it!

What an incredible band! I will be going to se them this month. I must tell you, if you do not have this cd in your collection, get it and play it often and very LOUD! it is great!
