Probably the best non-progressive scan player on the market today. I use it with my relatively cheap Symphonic 27" stereo TV and the picture is absolutely fantastic! Sound is great too. Plays well my MP3s. I connect it to my high-power Technics stereo system and it produces excellent sound. While you can get much cheaper player, consider this: Sony has been known as maker of reliable products. This device has some fast-moving precission parts inside. Better to stick with a highly reputable manufacturer. And the picture quality is really second to none!

I too had problems with sony dvd and cd players failing just after the warranty expires. Mine wouldn't spin up the disk. this is the second sony product I have had that had drive problems. STAY AWAY!

I purchased this DVD player almoast a year ago and it's still working great! I love the design and the remote is easy to use. i've probably viewed at least 50 movies on it and it's still going strong! I have some words of advice for anyone concidering purchasing this product. If you have an older tv like i do,it may not have the right hook-ups, so you might need an rf modulator to go through. I must be honest and tell you that i don't know much about hooking up such
