goes with "God Bless America", November 30, 2008
Patriotic and reverently presented, it is a good DVD, done at about the same time as 'God Bless America.' Victory and hope seem to be the theme. 'God Bless America' is more diversified, I think, and has some extraordinary talent, (that one would not see often). The Vocal Band's first song on 'Let Freedom Ring' is not my favorite, but this must not discourage you, because -I can assure you- their last song which is actually the song,'Let Freedom Ring,' beats even the performance they did for the US President. I was inspired. The Martin's were great, and he Hoppers lively and entertaining, with other good songs from other good folks as well.
Not that I am a worthy critic, but in just about any production, there is something that I would probably have changed or left out. Nonetheless, overall, these were especially good purchases for me, and I am ever so careful about spending money. So, there you go. Mickey

THE HOMECOMING FRIENDS AT CARNEGIE HALL, March 1, 2008
Let Freedom Ring was filmed while the Homecoming Friends performed a concert at Carnegie Hall, New York City after 9/11. This is a very inspirational and patriotic dvd/video. Carnegie Hall was packed - not a seat in the house available and the crowd participated and was enthusiastic.
Songs include:
This Land is Your Land
When We All Get Together With the Lord
You Needed Me - Mark Lowry
New York City, We've Got a Song For You
God Bless the USA - Ivan Parker
THe Pledge of Allegiance
My Country 'Tis of Thee
Redeemed
So High
Comedy - Taylor Mason
When He Calls I'll Fly Away
Great Day
You'll Never Walk Alone - Armond Morales (folks Mr. Morales will bring tears to your eyes with this solo.)
More than Wonderful - Sandi Patti, Larnelle Harris (duet)
The Star Spangled Banner
Lean on Me - Stephen Hill
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb - the Hoppers
Battle Hymn of the Republic - Terry Blackwood, David Phelps
Let Freedom Ring - Gaither Vocal Band.
My dvd is not region encoded so check listings as many of the Gaither dvd's are NOT region encoded.
I highly recommend this for kids. These are great songs, patriotic songs, stirring songs and kids will enjoy them. Get out the drums, bugles, and the horns and have your own concert. Just not at my house!!!!

You'll watch/listen to this over and over and over, November 20, 2002
By A Customer
Incredibly inspiring music and commentary. It seems that at the end of each song that the next can't possibly be as moving but it is. Buy it, turn up the sound, blink away the tears now and then and share it with your friends (you'll definitely want to).
