Product Description

Product Description

The Sure Shot 130u camera combines a stylish and ultra compact design with a wide range of features including a 38-130mm f/5.6 -12.5, 3.4x zoom lens to offer users exceptional image quality at an affordable price. Canon has been able to reduce the size of the new Sure Shot 130u compared to previous models in the Sure Shot range, by incorporating a small yet powerful flash unit and an integrated metering and focusing system (AE/AF) into the body of this miniature camera. In addition to its ultra compact size, the Sure Shot 130u features a new generation design encompassing striking aluminum curved casing which will satisfy even the most style conscious of users. The Sure Shot 130u is also extremely user friendly and features a large zoom button for easy operation and a large LCD panel making it easy for the user to view the settings. Its integrated AE/AF sensor reduces the size of the Sure Shot 130u and provides improved automatic exposure. A 16-zone metering sensor can detect backlighting, which means that more subtle exposure can also be achieved. An exposure compensation of +1.5 or -1.5 stop is also possible. The Auto Focus can be controlled by switching between seven focusing points, which are linked to the zoom. When set on the custom function, center-point autofocus is also possible.Five custom functions are available in addition to the camera's standard features. These include the real time release mode, flash mode memory, auto rewind disabled, center-focus point selection and continuous shooting. The Sure Shot 130u also incorporates seven flash modes for high performance exposure in different situations. These features allow the photographer to set up their own camera setting preferences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Compact Point & Shoot Zoom Camera, December 30, 2002
By R. King (Michigan, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
If you're looking for a good quality but simple to use compact point and shoot camera, this is an excellent choice.

In addition to the ultra-compact design of the all metal body, it is fully automatic with a 3.4x zoom lens with auto focus. It also offers several different program flash settings in addition to red eye reduction for special needs.

It features a 38-130 mm zoom lens with auto focus and can do close-ups very well too. The viewfinder offers an adjustment for anyone requiring corrective lenses so that you can view your subject clearly without the need of glasses.

The body is ergonomically designed, well balanced and very compact to make it easy to carry or pack. I also like the all metal body construction. The power on/off button is design to be out of the way and recessed to avoid the camera being turned on/off accidentally, but still easy to turn the camera on/off when needed.

The automatic film loading, advancing and rewinding is nice. You can even rewind the film mid-roll if needed. It also has a 10 second self-timer.

The flash is electronically controlled and the camera also offers several different preset flash programs built-in for special situations.

So far we have used 200, 400 and 800 speed film (ISO) in a verity of situations (daylight, close-ups, night with flash and without, etc) and all the results have been excellent.

Again, this is an excellent compact point and shoot film camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great camera!!!! If you have kids...this is for you!!!, August 28, 2003
By A Customer
Finally I have found the camera for me! I have shopped around quite a bit, and have done alot of research! I have tried "Nikon"..."Minolta" and they do not even compare to this camera!

I have kids and taking pictures fast is a must for me! I have yet to miss a moment! The flash is ready to go quickly after a picture is taken,(so you can take 2 pics of your baby doing something cute!!)You do not have to keep someone smiling while the red eye reducer light is working, it is that fast!! The view finder is large, so you can find something moving around in the view finder quite easily! It is small and compact to keep in my purse.
I also use the Canon Rebel SLR...another great find!! But when you need a small point and shoot...this is the way to go!

TWO THUMBS UP!!!! Worth every penny I paid for!! Canon is a name to depend on!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Point and Shoot Camera, May 28, 2003
By "blaizze" (IN United States) - See all my reviews
I bought this camera to take with me on vacation. I was looking for a small camera that would give me quality pictures without costing me a lot of money. I looked around quite a bit before making a purchase. I narrowed it down to two Canon cameras (the 130u and the z155). While I was looking for a powerful zoom, I decided the z155 may have been more power than I needed. With the 130u, I can fully extend the zoom and get sharp, bright pictures! I'm extremely happy with this camera and would definitely recommend it to anyone!
