5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Compilation, March 4, 2005

(REAL NAME)
We were looking for a good source to introduce our children (4 and 6) to various classical composers and melodies. We had tried one of the Baby Einstein tapes, but all the music was done on synthesizers. This compilation is done with real orchestras.
It has been a great tool in getting the kids familiar with all different types of composers - from Baroque and Classical, to Romantics and someone modern composers.

5.0 out of 5 stars indispensable for teaching music appreciation, September 18, 2008
By Miss Ivonne (Louisville, KY USA) - See all my reviews
Every teacher of humanities (what I am) or teacher of music appreciation finds herself or himself in a bind: You need lots of examples of great music to use in class.

The four CDs of Classical Moods come to the rescue. Here are dozens of musical gems to illustrate everything from Bach to Tchaikovsky and allemande to syncopation.

1.0 out of 5 stars Big mistakes, August 5, 2009
Excuse me but Sabre Dance is not by George Gerswin, Waltz from Maskarade is not by Chopin and Walz from Swan Lake is not by Bach. The first two are by Khachaturian and the last one is by Tchaikovsky. What a joke.

There is this weird ringing going on in almost every song. It really takes away from the music. You might have better luck buying this on CD.
