Editorial Reviews

About the Artist
Eric-jon and Carlos, college chums, got together during the summer of 1999, and started to fiddle around with their newly acquired guitars, living together in Boston, fostered a little creativity and soon they were developing their unique style.

fast forward to December of 1999, and you have the first "show" carlos and eric-jon put on, with no moniker just yet. Billed as Live at Emerson, it was an enthusiastic show with lots of potential.

January of 2000 rolled along and they decided to put a name on this little music thing that they got rolling, and the name, parker house and theory came to be , on a long, long road trip that should have never happened. You'll have to wait for the whole story.

Shortly thereafter, they started playing a few shows at Emerson, where someone recommended them to someone, who booked them at Wheelock College, where they played a few times. Winter of 2000/2001 was an exciting time as they began to aquire a modest following and a few songs here and there. the covers began to fade away and the originals multiplied.

Summer of 2001, was busy ,as they recorded their "demo" at WERS in Boston, a simple 4 song acoustic sampler of times to come. along with gigs in Cape Cod and New York, things were rolling.

Fall of 2001, was the begining of the parker house and theory you see today. Eric-jon and Carlos wanted to surround themselves with musicians who could not only back them up, but help take their music, to a whole new level, and write new stuff, together.

Andy Wesby, a freshman at emerson blew away all who saw his blues harp romp at an open mic during orientation, the same that parker house and theory played at. destiny. After seeing him, they asked if he wanted to jam with them, and plans were layed.

The boys ran into a djimbe player, Anders Burrows on the stoop of one of the Emerson Dorms, and it was an instant jam session, Another one to join the house. His Roomate Rob, just happened to be a bassist with a sweet groove. With a passionate love for DMB, they even tried a violinist for a show, Noah Wolf, but realized, though he was incredible, that only one band can pull that one off.And finally a friend of Eric-jon and Carlos' Debra Yourman, would add some vocals here and there.

That was parker house and theory for 3 months, playing shows at Emerson, Wheelock, The Above Club, and The Big Easy in Boston. Until the inevitable happened, a friend of a friend asked if he could jam with us some time, some latin percussion perhaps. Well the fact that he was Latin hepled and the fact that he was/is a damn good drummer was a bonus. Welcome Marcos Valles to the House.

When you get a full boat, chances are some people leave for other things, as was the case for Rob Wilson and Anders, Who left for a semester abroad in Europe. The band wished them the best of luck, and realized that it was time to move on, keeping them in spirit, always.

Then there were 4, with Debra taking an inactive role, due to pressures of school.

Spring 2002. After solidifying a steady gig at a downtown Starbucks and playing shows with local favorites, Syd, Leah Seigel and Seneca, it was time for the Battle of The Bands at the Middle East.

but there was still no funk bass to round things out. No low end theory, as in parker house and theory.Enter Colin Lewis who scored and audition and landed the part the second he walked in the door, under the influence.

That was 5. This is 5.This is Parker House and Theory Having narrowly lost the finals at the Middle East, The band retreated and worked on their repitoire.

Summer 2002 While being signed by a booking agent, Celia Black Brooks and having the priviledge of recording a full length Studio Album at the famed Fort Apache, the summer has been a busy time, but the groundwork is layed for an explosive fall. Enjoy the house.
