The new FM2017 is an industrial-strength switch that's affordable enough to use at the end of a 100BaseFX fiber run for workgroups or Broadband over Ethernet delivery to tenanted buildings. With 16 ports of 10/100BaseTX and an optional slot for fiber uplinks, all 17 ports can be used simultaneously. FM2017 series of switches are engineered for high-performance, low-cost workgroups as desktop connectivity in small offices, departmental workgroups in education and medium-sized enterprise with fiber connected backbones to servers or central distribution switches interconnected by fiber.Used in networks that include the Asante IC3524, 3548 FM2009, FX1000 and FS7000 desktop and workgroup switches and the Asante IC4000 backbone fiber distribution switches, Asante offer an end-to-end, high performance, low cost fiber solution, which is unequalled. Asante offers the industry the widest range of managed and unmanaged fiber connected workgroup, desktop, backbone switches and network cards. For multi-tenant, multi dwelling and fiber to the home applications, the FM2017 is very suitable as an entry level Tenant Access Device (TAD). With VLAN support per port allowing secure Tenant connection this switch allows highest performance with lowest available industry cost.
