I've been buying these turtlenecks for years and they are the best! Even after many washings, they hold their shape, which is particularly important in the neck area. The necks are comfortable, not too tight like some other brands, yet staying up there keeping your neck warm. I'm long-waisted and buy men's sized turtlenecks because the extra body length stays neatly tucked in my jeans or slacks. The only problem with that is that some colors I like (e.g. purple, hot pink) aren't always available in the men's sizes. When those colors do occasionally come available, I buy several and make them last over a couple years!

I used to absolutely love the Land's End mock turtlenecks. They used to be made of a thick, heavy cotton that made for a sturdy mock that would last seemingly forever. But note the phrase "used to". Just last week I bought three mocks from the Land's End catalog and when I received them in the mail I was shocked. These mocks were of a decidedly inferior cotton: flimsy and tissue-thin. They looked (and felt) horrible. They didn't look as though they would survive one trip to the laundry. I returned them the next day. I was so disappointed; these used to be just terrific and now they're just horrible. Save your money and look for a mock somewhere else: the Land's End great mocks are no more.

Every year, I buy Lands End mock turtlenecks for my grandfather for his birthday and for Christmas. Recently, I asked him what he loves so much about these shirts. He said it's a combination of three things: their durability, comfort, and colorfastness. I love them because they come in many different colors, they're inexpensive, and they make him happy.
