3.0 out of 5 stars trailer song, July 13, 2003
By A Customer
Does anyone know what the song that was used in the trailer for Phone Booth is? its not the Six Days song. its kind of a techno riff, with raspy male vocals. write a review please if you know.

2.0 out of 5 stars Down for the Count, November 6, 2003
By Ricardo Lopes Moura (Lisbon, Portugal) - See all my reviews
HGW was orchestrator and arranger for such as Stanley Myers and Hans Zimmer, while learning the secrets of the trade. He worked with Zimmer in"Broken Arrow","As Good As It Gets"and "Smilla's..."before scoring full name. After"The Replacement Killers", he teamed up with Trevor Rabin for "Enemy of the State"and with John Powell for"Ant Z"and"Chicken Run"."Spy Game"showed, beyond a doubt,he had his own voice, and what a voice.
Which brings us to"Phone Booth".And what is this?It has nothing to do with his previous work,Zimmer's style or anything I've ever heard. This new score is...original,to say the least.I'ts made of strange moods provided by electronic percussions and little more. The problem is:does it always pay off to be different? We gotta be honest:even though the music serves the movie well and it has that unique feel, when you put the CD running and close your eyes, it doesn't sound like much.Tracks never seem to pick up and they are interrupted before they establish the tone.
It sounds good, but it's like half a score.HGW can do a lot better.

1.0 out of 5 stars NO DJ SHADOW????!!!!!!!, January 7, 2005
Just saw Phone Booth for the first time on rental today - and really liked it. But what i especially liked was the DJ Shadow tune at the end. Naturally I jumped on the web, to perform one of my compulsive instant buying moments - and searched for a cheap soundtrack. Good job i checked out the listing - as it doesnt even contain this very cool song!!!

I'm not a fan of DJ Shadow - my only memories of him was waiting to watch Radiohead in '97 and he was supporting. But me and my mate simply thought it was the technicians tuning instruments in - as it did sound a little crap. But i LOVE this tune! Anyway - the only way i can get hold of this remix (Mos Def) is from an imported version of his Private Press Album or downloading it. I dont like to download music (just a personal choice) - but after seeing this import for £27 (and it's only one CD of 13 songs!) - no wonder more and more folk are downloading!

you know what they will do next - realise a "special edition" version of the soundtrack with DJ Shadow on it!

nice one

H
