Product Description

Product Description

The Pocket GPS Navigator is comprised of the iGPS hardware and the Ostia navigation software supplied on CD-ROMs. With the navigation software installed on your HP iPAQ, locating your current position, or finding a destination or point of interest (POI) is fast and simple. Routes can be calculated and viewed. Once you're in your vehicle, simply activate the navigation program and begin traveling; the automated voice-prompts will instruct you when and where to turn. If by chance you go "off route, " the automated voice will give an off-route warning. Simply push the "Action" button on your HP iPAQ and the system will reroute you to your destination from your current position.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drive like a local in any town!, February 4, 2003
By Ori Artman "End User" (Woodinville, Washington United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I recently returned from a trip to the San Francisco and Berkley areas. It was so nice not to have to follow directions, make mistakes and have to backtrack, but to be able to get the GPS' directions in real time. It's accurate; I was able to drive and anticipate turns and reach my destination accurately and quickly.
I was also very impressed by the ability of the software to concatenate separate maps into a single virtual map.
I found the hardware and software to be reliable.
I'm using this on a Pocket PC Phone by T-Mobile, with 128MB SD memory card (this is where I store music and maps).

Hints:
Wait about a minute after hooking up to acquire satellite data.
If there're tall buildings drive to an open area or turn and the next block to expose a different part of the skies.
