5.0 out of 5 stars El mejor album de Cerati, January 17, 2003
By Reynaldo Herrera (Viņa Del Mar, Chile) - See all my reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars Cerati se mantiene freco, February 10, 2003
By Luis C. Diaz (Mason, Ohio) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)

5.0 out of 5 stars Always Cerati , August 18, 2005
By Raul A. Suarez Giacoman "Alex G" (Mc Allen, Texas United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Cerati surprises once again proper and strangers with this new album. `Siempre es hoy' comes as a very pleasant surprise and as an excellent follow up to `Bocanada', showing a perfect continuation in his style but also a more mature and creative musician. The combination of rhythms and styles in this albums go from electronic music to the roots of south American music (as he does in Sulky)

It is very difficult for me to say this is his best album, it is indeed a great CD filled with songs that you will fall in love with from the very first time you listen to it, but each one of his albums is different from one another. The simplicity in `Amor amarillo', the experimental orchestra from `Bocanada', the new concepts from `Colores santos'... like stated before, listen to his discography and you will see the evolution I referred to.

From the first chords of the album, `Siempre es hoy' sets the table for an absolutely fabulous list of songs, the electronic music mixed perfectly with his guitar riffs will be present in great part of the album. The almost auto biographical `Naci para esto' tells us about the idea Gustavo has about himself and his decision of life, he was born for this. `Amo dejarte asi' delivers one of the best pieces of the album, the bass and the drums in this song are just unbelievable, the lyrics and Cerati's vocals complement this song making it a must for fans. `Karaoke' and `Casa' show his live for the electronic music, not only because of the rhythms but for the lyrics as well. Charly Garcia does an special appearance as guest in two songs, `Torre de marfil' and `Vivo', even though we would have liked to hear a duet, Charly amazes with his guitar performing side by side with Gustavo.

Like someone pointed out before, this is a very colorful album, hard to define due to the wide variety of rhythms present on it but quite enjoyable from beginning to end. An obligatory piece to listen to if you consider yourself a true music fan.
