Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Until recently, the Anglicised version of the Jamaican national sound was widely over-looked by purists, but with attitudes finally beginning to change, we add further weight to the argument that Reggae doesn't just have to be produced in Kingston, Ja. to be worthy of respect, with this essential collection of British recordings, all of which make their debut on CD. Three paper sleeves in a digibox. Trojan. 2002. --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

2.0 out of 5 stars not that great, March 3, 2003
By A Customer
I have really enjoyed the trojan box sets, both for quality of music, and the value. But this one I realy didn't care for that much. Most of the tracks are really poppy and sappy. Mostly there are love songs and doo-woop sounding reggae, sounds like reggae produced for mass appeal. Not a very rewarding listening experience I think.
