Brilliant pop album from the best mexican pop band!, March 20, 2003
I was shocked when I found out that after only two singles, Kabah were ending the promotion for "La Vida Que Va" and they were going to release a new album. "La Vida Que Va" is a very strong album with lots of potential singles, so they should definitely have something in their hands to move on so quickly from that project. Now I can see why. "La Vuelta Al Mundo" is as catchy as "La Vida Que Va" but it changes the dance sound for a more guitar based production.Don't be afraid, Kabah's brand of pop is still very much here and they even have a heavily electronic sounding track ("Ser De Aire") but they are taking a more mature approach to pop this time. "Por Ti" is the lead off single, although it's far from being the best cut here. My favorites are "Florecitas" (think alternative-meets-pop), "Tiempo" (midtempo track that pays homage to ABBA, sampling "Money Money Money"), "Ser De Aire" (I already mentioned this one), "La Vuelta Al Mundo" (gorgeous ballad) and the theme song for Big Brother 2 Mexico, "El Complot". This is a great pop record and if you can't speak Spanish, don't worry, the catchy melodies speak for themselves. *** Highly recommended!! *** PS: Also check their previous album, "La Vida Que Va".

What are you waiting for?!, August 23, 2003
Ok Come on now everyone...if you don't know who these guys are by now well...then you need to listen to this stuff. It's time for the mainstream success, I mean they are huge in many parts of Latin America but we can still make them big eveywhere else, specially here in the US. "La vuelta al mundo" is by far their best effort yet (personally I think it shows a new approach into pop music). I came to my surprise that this album was released so soon (after about a year of "La vida que va" another smash hit album), but I was very surprised to find a more down to earth, intelligent lyrics, great arrangements on this new cd. Outstanding tracks are: Saltaras al mar, Azul profundo, Fue lo que sera; all of these for their catchiest pop tunes and sticky lyrics. But you also get the edgy Florecitas and Ser de aire, awesome songs with totally opposite arrangements each of them. The biggest track for me (the only ballad too) is the title track, showing a blend of beautiful vocals from the Kabah girls! Now if you think pop is boring, overproduced, then Kabah will prove you wrong. Accept this challenge and be awaken to this kind of music. And if any of you Kabah's ever read this, do us all a favor and keep doing music like this, we love you!
