this dvd is awesome, the pontani sisters are super cool- not like normal work out people. They are super cute and have the greatest outfits ever! I wanna be one! The dance you learn is totally cool and my friends and I all know it and do it together! The extra's on the dvd are really funny! I love it!

Sisters on DVD!, May 16, 2003
I got hooked on the World Famous Pontani Sisters after seeing them perform at the Slipper Room, and now I can learn how to dance like them! (Just gotta get one of those costumes!!!) My friends and I laugh all the way through this workout, and the Q&As with the sisters is really cool. Who knows, I might even get in shape!

Retro 50s/60s dances instruction/workout, November 13, 2007
This dvd contains the workout, the chapter indexes, a very cute bio that doesn't give any professional info, gallery stills & credits.
The production isn't expensive, but you can hear everything well, the camera zooms in nicely, the music piped in is on a good level according to the mic on the girls.
All three sisters have a GREAT personality, they love what they do, they like to be in the moment & have fun & it shows. All three, Angie, Tara & Helen have beautiful smiles & have fun doing this workout with red curtains behind, wearing a red bikini outfit & matching hat with white go-go boots reminiscent of those days.
The 4 minute warm up is good, stretches the shoulder, ribs, waist, hips, & hamstrings nicely. There's even some Lester Horton warm up technique in there as well as a couple simple yoga poses.
I believe Angie teaches. She has great cues & gives full descriptions on how to move your limbs. She's encouraging & positive. During the dance parts she warns you wish move is coming next. I had no problem following at all.
The main part is about 30 min. You learn each dance seeing them do it, then just the legs in 1/2 time, just the arms, then both, then normal speed. Then with music. Each time you learn a new dance, at the music part, you repeat all the other dances you already learned to form a routine. This is a great formula for learning new dance moves & keeping the heart rate up.
The moves you learn are the Hully Gully (step touches with simple arm movements), the Courtney Cox (because simple safe step touches most women do & she did for "dancing in the dark" video in '84 though the sisters do it much w/more fluidity & faster), Hitchhiker (slow hip shimmy with thumb pointing), Motown (very easy small hip shake with arm slow swing), Mashed Potato (little more complicated foot swivels), Pony (simple double step touches) & the Twist (original way with knee forward). These moves are all done in a row, with the Courtney repeated many times in between thos moves & the routine done 2x for the one song. You are always given verbal & on screen written names so you know what comes next. At the end, you repeat it 2x all the way through w/cues, then 2x more w/o any cues.
The cool down is 4 min, also is done very well & gets all the major muscles.
Considering, why am I not giving this 5 stars considering the production was good enough, the sisters have a great personality & cuing? I didn't like the actual dances themselves. Bit too corny for me, I was hoping for some other dances & more different types of dances. I also didn't even get my heart rate up at all, though I stopped right before they repeated it about 4x in a row at the end because I didn't want to do those types of dances. The twist, mashed potato & Courtney were fun though.
You can see a clip on youtube under "World Famous Pontani Sisters Go-Go Robics"
