Dazzle Fusion includes an external breakout box with inputs for composite, S-Video, stereo RCA audio, slots that accommodate the most popular digital media formats and a copy of Pinnacle's Studio QuickStart editing software. This hardware and software combination is the perfect solution for any camcorder and digital camera owner who wants to experiment with digital video without enduring a steep learning curve.

Edit movies with Studio QuickStart
Pinnacle's Studio QuickStart software makes editing movies on your PC or laptop as easy as one-two-three.

Step One: Capture
Attach your camcorder or VCR to the Fusion breakout box, install Pinnacle's Studio QuickStart software, and capture the video clips you want to your computer's hard drive.

Step Two: Edit
Import your photo and video clips, then drag-and-drop them onto the editing timeline. From there, trim the clips, add a 2-D or 3-D transition and title or two, and sync the whole project up with your favorite music (Studio QuickStart supports CD, MP3, and WAV audio). If you want to get really creative, try out a few of the software's built-in special effects features.

Step Three: Output
Add menus and chapter breaks and burn a disc that can play in your living room DVD player. Studio QuickStart saves your finished movie in any number of formats, including AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, RealVideo, or Windows Media Format. Use RealVideo and Windows Media Format to export your video to the web, and use MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 to export your video onto VCD, SVCD, or DVD.

1.0 out of 5 stars Run Away!, October 29, 2003
By KENNETH ANDERSON (Sacramento, CA) - See all my reviews
This is a horrible product that you should avoid at all costs! I have wasted a great deal of time trying to get it to work properly. Its drivers run in the Windows 16bit emulator (they didnt even bother to write 32 bit drivers for it for w2k or XP)
So when it crashes (which is frequent) the 16 bit emulator takes all of the cpu time! Then the stuff wont un-install, so you have to figure out where it is running in the registry and remove it by hand! One of the WORST products that we have ever bought here!

2.0 out of 5 stars Software driver problems, November 19, 2003
By Dr J. Scott "Scientist" (Santa Rosa, CA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This product works well when it works, but all too often it does not work. The Win2k driver, even when installed carefully, often fails to recognise media. I am a computer professional, and I tried various tactics; I can now make it work, but it is complicated, fiddly, and ridiculous. Phone and email support are useless (gave up after 45 minutes on hold on the phone, even when email questions are accepted and acknowledged no reply ever arrives). Avoid this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Many problems with this reader, December 15, 2003
By "cgm453" (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews
Have had massive problems with two of these readers that I bought for work. One of them repeatedly disappears from my computer after I read and remove a card, and I have to reboot to bring it back. The other has somehow corrupted two Smartmedia cards and made them unusable. Zio supposedly has a firmware upgrade but so far has not actually sent it, nor is it available on their website, not to mention they said you can only install it with a Win98 system... Avoid this product, by all means.
