You can't really say that Wario is greedy. He's just, uh, financially motivated. Always on the lookout for his next get-rich-quick scheme, Wario stumbles upon the lucrative video game publishing market. Like any aspiring entrepreneur, Wario buys a PC and starts his own company, called WarioWare, Inc. With the help of his friends, he develops over 200 of the wildest games the world has never seen.

Each "game" lasts five seconds, which is kept track of via an on-screen time-bomb. Directions aren't provided, so much of the challenge comes from figuring out how, precisely, to beat each minigame. This is where you come in. You are challenged by Wario and each of his developer buddies to beat all of their games within the given time limit. Each developer specializes in a particular genre of game, so you at least have a vague idea of what to expect.

You'd be amazed at what you can accomplish in five seconds. Minigames vary wildly, including brushing teeth, picking someone's nose, cracking an egg over a moving frying pan, shaking a dog's paws and more. One of the game developers even has a Nintendo genre of games, including five-second versions of Super Mario Bros., F-Zero, Balloon Fight and even The Legend of Zelda.

The more games you beat, the faster and more difficult the games become. The games also appear in random order, so you can't simply memorize what you're supposed to do each time. After defeating the required number of games, you'll enter a boss encounter. These games have no specific time limit and are often much more challenging than the preceding mini-games. Successfully defeating the "boss" unlocks the next level of developers until you finally face Wario himself.

Defeating specific game developers will unlock special two-player and challenge games for added replay value. Only a single Game Pak and Game Boy Advance system are required for multiplayer. This really is the game for people with attention deficit disorder. Each level contains about 10 minigames, each of which you play for three seconds.

It's cute, and fun, but it can also be very frustrating, because you're only allowed to mess up a certain number of minigames per level. Once you pass that, you have to start the level over.

I originally gave this game only 3 stars, but after playing and playing and playing it I've had to edit my review and up my rating. It's truly addictive, lots of fun, and (despite what another reviewer said) appropriate for all ages. (Honestly, imagine being worried about your child seeing nose-picking. I don't know any little kid I haven't seen picking his or her nose at least once!)

One bonus -- you can unlock the full version of the classic game Dr. Mario. It's even better than the original Gameboy game, because it's in full color, the viruses have faces, and it's Wario, not Mario, tossing the pills.

Bottom line: this game is pure fun.

WarioWare is sort of a hard game to explain. The main game presents the player with 10-25 short challenge games followed by a "boss game" which lasts a little longer. The short games are shown to the player with no explaination given and you get 3 to 5 seconds to complete them. Some of them are self-explainatory (one is Donkey Kong and you have to jump the rolling barrel) while some are incomprehensible at first. You have to play them several times to figure out what the objective is and how to accomplish it. There are so many different games presented in random order that it never seems to get old.

The games are grouped into several categories. Sports, IQ games, Nintendo (a collection of minigames modelled after classic games), Scifi, Wacky, Food, and others. Many of the games are laugh out loud funny, and some are juvenile but made me laugh any way. I'll describe some of them briefly - remember you only have 3-5 seconds to do this. 1) Eat a banana 2) escape getting stomped by a foot 3) help the aliens escape getting caught in a glass 4) Cut through a piece of meat for dinner 5) Brush someone's teeth 6) stick a finger in a nose 7) put eyedrops in an eye 8) Karate chop through wood 9) block a soccer ball from a goal 10) Hit baseballs coming at you.

Hopefully those descriptions give you some idea of the flavor - there are over 200 to do. As you go through the game and beat the levels, you unlock other games. After you have beaten a level you can go back and play the games you beat for practice. Some of them are 2 player mini games that are played at the same time with two people on one GameBoy. Still more gameplay is squeezed out by going back and trying to get the high score on an individual level or a group of levels. You go back and play them over and over for score until you lose.

Some of the games require reading so young children may need a little help with them. Otherwise this is a game that all ages (both boys & girls) will enjoy. Wario Ware gets 5/5 - highly recommended.

This game is a lot of fun! The game centers around completing several 5 second games in rapid succession. These 5-second mini-games include a wide variety of topics, including shaking a dog's paw, cutting meat, hitting rabbits on the head, and matching parts of vegetables. There are over 200 mini-games, and it will take hours and hours of game playing to unlock and complete all of them.

If you are from the "old" NES school (like myself), you will love the mini-games associated with the character "9-Volt". There are mini games based upon such classics as the original Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Hogan's Alley, Duck Hunt, and many more!

Once you unlock a game, you can play that one game as many times as you can in a row. Although this sounds like it should be easy, the game speeds up the action and it becomes very challenging and fun. I've been playing my GBA to kill time waiting in line, because the game is not linear in the traditional fashion.

Enjoyable, challenging, and non-traditional. All great qualities, especially at a time when the best GBA games are primarily re-releases of SNES titles!
