This Key structure allows you to type with your wrists in a natural position while maintaining the standard key locations. The result- increased comfort without relearning how to type. Touch-Typists will love this Keyboard! Many users of the most "split" keyboards on the market find their large size and unconventional key configurations to be intimidating. There can be a long "learning curve" associated with these keyboards. The Comfort Style keyboards are designed to increase comfort without users having to relearn how to type. Plus, the standard keyboard size saves desk space when compared to other "split style" keyboards. Windows 98 or later with available PS/2 port.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Ergonomic keyboard and good value, October 1, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am very happy with this keyboard!
I was dubious that the shape changes could replace a split for comfort. My hands are large and so I was worried that my fat finger tips would not be accommodated by the oddly shaped keys.
For me the shape changes work as well as the split .. at least so far so good!

One of the most surprising things I like are the slight cups of the keys and the ridges on the f and j home keys. The ridges are a big improvement over the little pips on my last keyboard. You can really tell you are in the right place on this keyboard! As a result I believe that I don't have to look down as much.
The one exception to that is that the backslash & pipe (\|) key is below instead of above the enter key. I am adjusting and like the layout.

The keys are a bit textured and I feel that my fingers stay in place and don't slide around on them too easily. My last keyboard was too smooth.

The sound and feel of the keys is good. the keys require less pressure than my last keyboard.

It did take a couple of days to accustom to the new key shapes and feel but I was able to be productive immediately. As I am getting better acquainted with the feel I believe that I can actually type faster with this keyboard. The pressure needed is fairly light but the snap back is great!

I have used and liked a micro innovations split keyboard and a Microsoft split keyboard. I am a programmer and I can get tendinitis so I must have an ergonomic keyboard that prevents the bad position cause by regular keyboards pictured in the description. Just looking at the picture is painful!

I use this keyboard on an adjustable keyboard tray /arm*, a Kensington expert mouse track ball on an extension to the keyboard arm and I sit on a Hermen Miller Aeron chair. My desk with the arm are by OFS of Huntingtonburg Indiana. The keyboard also works well with my io-gear usb/dvi + audio kvm. Out of all the carefully selected components in my workstation this inexpensive keyboard was by far the most reasonably priced!

The ergonomic keyboard of course not a replacement for typing breaks or if I am having a flair up of tendinitis, a good wrist brace.

I would like to see Kensington make or license replacement laptop keyboards with a variation of this layout!

5.0 out of 5 stars I really love the layout and it helps against numb hands...., January 22, 2009
I've been using this style of keyboard for 4-5 years. Another company used to use this layout, and I think they were bought out. You'll adjust very quickly to it because it is simply a standard keyboard with a more natural position/angle. I've had this one for a while. My old off brand one was wireless which was a lot nicer, but I couldn't find it anymore.

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL KEYBOARD, December 5, 2008
We now have three of them.

Kensington did the split keyboard one better with this design. It's comfortable, and easy on the wrists, and damn easy to type on. If you're on the computer often, this is a keyboard to seriously consider.

I received this keyboard yesterday, after a long wait. I agree with other reviews that it is very comfortable and easy to type on, and there is no re-learning involved. Read more
