Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Spend More Time Taking Pictures
A photo opportunity lasts only an instant. If your digital camera is busy processing the last one, you're sure to miss the next one. That's where we come in. Our high-speed digital film helps your camera capture images faster, so you spend more time taking pictures and less time waiting on your camera.

Lexar Media CompactFlash cards are individually speed rated so you know the minimum capability of the card. We use the same rating system used by the CD-ROM industry, where data transfer rate of 1X equals 150 kilobytes (KB) per second. The higher the speed rating, the faster your camera will be able to write images to the memory card.

Digital Film Designed for the Professional Photographer
For the professional shooter who needs immediate confirmation they've captured "the shot" or wants to identify accurate exposure, levels, or bracketing range--Lexar Media's patented 4X, 12X, 32X and 40X speed (1X=150KB/sec.), (4X=600KB/sec.), (12X=1.8MB/sec.), (32X=4.8MB/sec.), and (40X=6.0MB/sec.) transfer rate respectively) is critical. Ideal for fast-paced applications such as photojournalism, sports and fashion, Lexar Media's High-Speed Series and Professional Digital Film brings out the ultimate performance from your professional equipment.

Solid-state Design with Built-in USB Intelligence
Professionals know that a single image can be more valuable than all their equipment combined. To risk losing an award-winning image because of a hard disk failure or breakdown is unacceptable. Lexar Media's solid-state design provides the ultimate reliability in harsh shooting environments, mandated by professionals throughout the world. And with built-in USB functionality, Lexar Media's Card Readers can quickly transfer your large images to your computer quickly and easily--up to 25 times faster than a serial cable connection--providing you more shooting time. You also save camera battery life by eliminating inconvenient tethered downloads.

100% Camera Compatibility Guaranteed, Plus a Lifetime Limited Warranty
The Digital Film Compliance seal assures you that your Lexar Media digital film is 100% compatible with your CompactFlash digital camera. It can also be used in all other digital devices that support the CompactFlash format, such as PDA's, Video recorders, and MP3 players. All Lexar Media CompactFlash meets the CompactFlash Association's specifications and is marked with the CF+ symbol.

Standard 4X CompactFlash is backed by a 5-year limited warranty where as the 12X and 16X High-Speed Series, 32X and 40X Professional Series are backed by a lifetime limited warranty.

Product Description

For years, Lexar Media has always supplied the fastest speed-rated CompactFlash (CF) cards to professional photographers meeting their most demanding needs for performance and reliability. With the introduction of Write Acceleration (WA) technology, Lexar Media continues to innovate in high-performance digital media.Write Acceleration technology is unique in that it is enabled by two components; one resides in the camera firmware and the other in the CF card firmware. When a WA enabled camera detects a WA enabled card the two are able to transfer data with less overhead, improving the throughput and taking greater advantage of the card's 24x (3.6 MB/s) write speed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Canon A70 saves pictures in a snap, July 22, 2003
The 40X professional card is much faster than a standard 4X card when recording high-quality images. The last reviewer said it didn't improve the speed 40 times, well it's not supposed to be 40 times faster, rather 40 X 150KB/s = 6MB/s. Worth the premium price if you are taking high resolution images with large file sizes. Otherwise you can save the money. Oh, and don't forget to buy a USB 2.0 card reader so you can take advantage of the improved download speed too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Forget The JumpShot, March 2, 2004
I just bought this so I don't have any performance feedback just yet, but...

They neglect to mention that a JumpShot media reader ships with this card. A nice surprise. Also included is card recovery/unerase/secure erase/test software (disk images on Card for MacOSX and for Windoze) called Image Rescue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Faster, March 10, 2004
By annie (NJ USA) - See all my reviews
I just received this card and popped it into my Nikon Coolpix 3100. It definitely takes pictures much faster, which was one of the few complaints I had with this camera, the lag between pushing the shutter and getting the shot. If this continues to work as well as it has today, it was worth the few extra dollars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lexar 256mb 40x w/Nikon D100
I have always found Lexar to be a good product.
But! the 40x may just be hype. The write speed of my Nikon D100
did not increase.
