Product Description

Product Description

The Allied Telesis AT-GS908GB unmanaged switch is designed for medium enterprises and education networks. The AT-GS908GB was built to deliver high bandwidth applications such as video, graphics, or industrial design, to the end user with the high speed and high performance that only Gigabit can provide. The AT-GS908GB includes two Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) expansion bays that are shared with the last two copper gigabit ports. When the GBIC bays are populated with Allied Telesis hot-swappable GBICs, ports 7 and 8 are turned off and the GBIC ports are turned on. Alternatively, if the GBIC bays are not populated, ports 7 and 8 are available for use. Allied Telesis offers five full duplex GBIC models that support distances of 500 meters up to 70 kilometers. The AT-GS908GB requires minimal configuration and can be installed in minutes for use in a network rack or on a desktop. The 10/100/1000TX copper ports on the AT-GS908GB are fully auto-negotiating; allowing it to connect to all other 10Mbps Ethernet, 100Mbps Fast Ethernet, or 1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet devices. Equipped with automatic MDI/MDIX ports for easy connection to other hubs and switches, the AT-GS908GB is a natural migration path from legacy networks and a cost-effective introduction to Gigabit Ethernet. Front panel LEDs allow users to monitor the switch status providing simple "at a glance" management.Allied Telesis is a worldwide leader in unmanaged Ethernet switches. With over 250, 000 unmanaged switches shipped each year, Allied Telesis offers proven reliability and industry recognized quality. Connected to managed Fast Ethernet Switches such as the AT-8024GB or the AT-8224XL or unmanaged Fast Ethernet Switches such as the AT-FS724i or the AT-FS709FC, the AT-GS908GB an ideal fit for Gigabit migration in the Local Area Network (LAN). The AT-GS908GB switch is capable of forwarding both standard sized packets and VLAN tagged packets throughout LANs.
