    Jaws 3 DVD

Quite frankly I was disappointed with this movie, but I did not watch it in 3D so that might be part of my problem.

There are more skiers, oh, Yummy.

Even some bumper boats, Yum Yum.

Jaws 3 takes place at a water amusement park with under water glass tunnels, etc. In one shot you can see part of the Orange County, Florida logo on an ambulance so, I would presume it was shot in Orlando, Florida.

Recommended for kids and Jaws completists.

I never understood why a DVD version of 3-D movies would be released without the 3-D. I mean, lets face it, this was always intended to be much more of a gimmick movie then it was about the continuing adventures of the Brody clan.

I would pick this up in a minute if it was released as (maybe) a "midnight movie" with a pair of glasses and maybe a bag of popcorn or something. For a studio to roll this out there naked and expect people to buy it is just crazy. The movie stinks; it's simply not good enough to stand up on its on merit. Part of the reason people went to the theaters to see this was to catch it in 3-D; to take that away just doesn't make any sense. It was never meant to be without it.

I'm sorry, but I hate this movie. It's not scarey, the special effects were done to be seen in 3-D and look REALLY bad on a TV, the acting is substandard, and the plot is pretty dumb. If you're a Jaws fan, avoid this film. There is nothing here except an excuse to make a 3-D movie with a shark in it. One positive note for this film. It's not scarey so it's probably the best Jaws movie for kids

    Oh man....this movie is bad.

I understand it was made in the 80s. I understand it's a work of fiction. I understand that it was intended to be viewed in 3-D. But it's not just the bad special effects ("Bruce" was more believable a decade prior in the original Jaws films). The acting is bad. The dialogue is bad. The hair is bad.

The scene with the submarine and the scene at the end where the shark approaches the window to the control room? I laughed until I cried. The shark's tail isn't even moving.....it is apparently gliding with lethal force. Mike's little brother shows up for whatever reason -- possibly to connect this movie to the other two. But all he does is whine about how much he hates the water and then gets in anyways, pretty much negating the powerful imagery of Jaws 2 where he is the little kid stuck on the boat, clinging to the rudder. The girlfriend of Dennis Quaid flings her promising career to the winds to follow him on his life's work, making anyone who views women as strong and capable figures in their own right cringe and want to hurl. (Hurl her into the lagoon with the 35 foot shark.)

Incidentally, the largest Great White ever recorded was around 20 feet long. Generally, they do not avenge the accidental capture of their children by attacking a theme park. And they have to move their tails to propel themselves through the water.....and therefore take in oxygen and not die.

The best thing that could happen to this movie would be for it to be featured on an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000. Now THAT I'd give five stars!

What a shame that the heart & soul that went into JAWS and JAWS 2 did not take place with JAWS 3.
I consider this movie such a missed opportunity! The concept is brilliant - JAWS breaks into Sea World. That's already something so different than what we've already seen in the first two films.
And that's where the brilliance ended.
When JAWS came out to play in the lagoon, out of ALL of those water-skiers, NOT ONE OF THEM meets the fate that Quint, Eddie and Marge met in the previous films? Really? Not one of them?
I'm not saying that a movie must have gruesome death scenes, however this is a JAWS film, why was is so watered down? No pun intended.
And then there are the embarrassing special effects. It's clear that the only purpose this movie was made for was to do a movie in 3D. What a shame to have pulled such a silly, non needed gimmick for a franchise that people took seriously and have enjoyed.
Who I do feel bad for are Bess Armstrong and Louis Gosset, Jr. Given the script that they had to work with, they both gave fantastic performances. It's a shame their work is so over shadowed by the weak script, insanely humorous special effects and the silliest and fakest fake shark to ever be on screen.
As much as I have been disappointed by reboots and remakes, I'd like to see Universal do with JAWS what was done with the Halloween franchise, reboot by ignoring parts 3 & 4 and remake some kick butt sequels that introduce a terrifying JAWS to a new generation that will now understand why there is a JAWS ride at Universal Studios. How many of us here had to explain to kids who JAWS is and why there is the attraction ride at the movie studio theme park?
Go for it Universal, reboot it. What have you got to lose? There is no way it could do worse than JAWS 3 or 4.

Hands down, this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and boy I've seen hundreds of movies. If you thought things went down hill from the nail biting original thriller "Jaws" to the ridiculous teen flick "Jaws 2", then "Jaws 3" plumbs new depths of abysmal film making. Everything about this film is terrible....banal dialogue, overacting by the principal cast, totally absurd & moronic plot and utterly third rate special effects. Dennis Quaid, Louis Gossett Jr., & Lea Thompson should all strike this movie from their resume's as they all contribute shocking performances !

Director Joe Alves ( the production designer for the first two "Jaws" movies ) made his directorial debut with this film, and he hasn't directed another film since...and based on this turkey, I wouldn't put him behind another camera either. The movie lacks any hint of suspense and is nothing more than a stupid 90 minute advertisement for Sea World and flipping dolphins and leaping killer whales. The paper thin plot sees the sons of Amity police chief , Martin Brody, pick up jobs at Florida's Sea World ( why couldn't they get jobs as rangers in the Rocky Mountains....no sharks up there ! ), where once again the Brody clan attracts giant great white sharks like flies to an outdoor picnic !

Pandemonium breaks loose in the acquatic park as a 35 foot great white starts its own show for the tourists by eating the water ski team, shattering undersea walkways imprisoning the tourists, eating more stupid scuba divers and then plowing through a glass wall into the main control room, and nearly makes a meal of Quaid & Armstrong. The special effects with the shark breaking into the control room have to be seen to be believed.....they are so shabbily done it's just a joke.
